[G2] The Seeker at the door of the Valley of Mines
Is it possible to manage to get past him without taking damage while you are trying to open the door to leave the pass? I made the mistake of going too early to the valley and as a result, the Seeker kills me with one fireball.

There is two ways you can do this go back to the valley of mines and kill all low level beast until you are strong enough to defeat the seekers or
activate the cheat mode in Gothic II, open the character's status window, type "marvin" (without the quotation marks) und close the window now my default keyboard key is C to open charter status window type Marvin fast close the charter window.
get close to the seeker just enough so you can target him press F2 type kill and that should take care of your seeker problem.

cheating isn't the answer imho. if you enjoying the game as it is, challenging one - load previous save game, or to pass it - use some summoning spells as you've been already advised. ice block is a cool method as well - someone in castle in vom should have one or two.

Another (risky) option is to use bow & sidestep to kill 'im. Depending on your skill with the bow, you may have to keep doing it for like forever, but little by little you'll whittle his health away and with a bit of luck and timing, you should be able to sidestep his ranged magic. I remember doing that once. Not recommended for HC games, though, as I remember dying like 20 times attempting this...

If you don't have spells or scrolls or teleport runes, there's one more option.
Move to where he starts attacking you, then withdraw. As the seeker follows you, keep moving back. Do this until you lure him away from the door and out of range of it. Then loop around, race back to the door, and make your escape!
P.S. don't die doing this.

I'd remain in the Valley of Mines and toughen myself up for a while, until I'd feel ready to confront the Seeker. The game is more interesting when things don't go according to plan all the time. Enjoy the challenge.

Do not enter in Marvin Mode! This will cause some bugs related to equipping strength boosting items such as belts, amulets, rings and so on which will permanently affect your stats.

Were you able to get past him Tondral?
Yes, i did. I remember that you could kill the Seekers by attacking them endessly by doing the chain combo, that way their attacks don't do any damage. I don't know if this is a bug or it was intented to be that way.

I never managed to get that one to work: sometimes the Seekers switched into "resilient move" and didn't flinch from my attacks for just enough time to unleash a spell.

are you playing with or without notr?
if with ,then doing add-on world before VoM is best

I only play priests (mages), so because of my game plan it takes me quite a while before I go to either area. I haven't played G2 in a long time, but IIRC, I'm around level 15 before I join the monastery, and probably 20-25+ before going to another area. I'm also many weeks in before entering.

I play with notr. The first time i played Gothic 2 i entered Jharkendar in chapter 3. Now i started a new game and i'm doing the "artifact of Beliar" quest before the main quest to see how that changes my character development.
