    help with gothic 3 forsaken gods

    Hello.

    its been a long time since I played gothic, and now that the new CP has arrived I thought I would give gothic 3 another try, so I installed gothic 3 forsaken gods and installed the new patch to the directory in steam.

    Well, when I start the game the first thing that comes up is a box with the title: Filename dialog. which says that it "found non unique filenames. please remove redundant resources.". the files is "GFG_Myrtana_border_01.xcmsh" which made me believe I might have a duplicated file, but I can't find it.

    anyways I click ok and the game starts up, but after the CPT g3 logo I get a error message with the title: "Where is the guru ?" and a bunch of info that I do not know how to intepret.

    also if I run the original gothic 3 (from the forsaken gods directory) it will start with the same popup as the first one. but I can play the game, but with no speech sound from any character when you interact with them.

    The new CP has nothing to do with Forsaken Gods. So I have problems even understanding what exactly you did and what you intended to do.

    In case you installed Gothic 3 and Forsaken Gods in the same installation directory - that would be the reason for your problems. Please use separate installation directories for those games. "Forsaken Gods" is not an addin, it's a stand alone game in itself.

    well now I feel stupid, after reading your post I went back to read about the patch. under compatibility, where I thought it stood forsaken gods it instead stood gold edition.... ouch...

    lesson learned, don't read compatibility fast.

    time to find my G3 cd.
