Risen 2 released in 38 fays
I think its rather exciting news .
I consider Risen her to Gothic because world is open ,
Arcania is the game developed for consoles - you can't fall into water or from mountain because
map is limited , exactly against Gothic ,which are free exploration games .
So yes tio Risen 2

Ummm... I don't want to be the bad one here, but I read in a preview a few days ago that there will be no more open world in Risen than it is in Mass Effect games... so I'm not entirely sure yet if I'm going to like it. Bu let's give it a chance!

I've heard that too, also other bad things like day 1 DLC. I think also the prettying up of the hero's look is questionable. I really hope PB haven't lost their way.

It was never said that exploration is 'blocked'

It is said that you even can travel from a Island to another, but ofc like in Gothic before you can go to VoM for exemple you need to complete a certain part of the game...same with Risen 2 don't worry, it will be EPWIC!

I really hate the new controls, you can't strafe, pressing d makes you run right it is ridiculous. You can only strafe when you hold block but strafing there is useless as you walk slowly then, the person who had decided to use this controls should be hunted.

So, is Risen 2 going to have a new/improved game engine or
just more of G3? G3 and Risen1 may have looked good at their
time, but they do look rather old now.

Engine is definately improved, but Piranhas seem to have kept all the bad things that we hated about the old one...
Oh yeah, and it's said that the "click-fest" fighting method will see a comeback...
