    Hi,

so there's a few game with a little bit of romance in them, and it's well done, but how come there's no romance game?

For around 110 boys who get born, there's around 100 girls (I know there's supposed to be as much women as men but old people -almost- don't count), yet their is only guy games. My little sister, she plays pokemon game. There's alot of girls playing (more and more), I think they would massively buy girl games.

I'm a dude but I'd actually like to try (just by curiousity) a romance (not plain porn) game, with tons of dialog lines, a litle bit of running around, a little bit of action to save your lover or whatever. Why is their no editor trying to get a piece of the cake? Do they think it's dangerous?

    What do you think?

Personally I find that boring, just as the whole romance concept including finding a possible mate and wasting my time and sources with her only to end up losing more than I had in the first place but I do believe that is whole new topic of discussion which I would prefer not to talk about due to the extreme amout of hate and disgust I shall write down. Yes I basically hate most thing in existance.

Maybe that would work out for a casual game, or one targeting the female audience. Possible free project, nothing too big. It would involve a lot of dialogues; mid-class plot; cheesyness and drama; must have mulptiple endings; high replay value; possible action between characters of the same gender caused by jealousy; low level of violence; highly developed character customization with wide enough(free) DLC content; on a personal note it should have reliable sources of psychological data base; Maybe as mentioned above free project or side project made as a filler while there's nothing hot on the market; Most important of all it should have interesting storyline; other not so significant things

I might give such game a try if it does include some of the things on my mind.

Judging from all the sterio-types, that is not a viable option.

As to why nobody makes games like that. From what I know, nothing really happanes in romace, it's only word weaving and sceneries. If a game like that would be made it won't really be classified as a game, more like an experience just like ppl say "journey" is and that game where you control flowers(made by the same company, haven't played them both tough).
Also I'm not a very scocial person let aloone romantic, so don't take my thoughs too deep.

Yeah, a filler in-between the release days of bigger titles.

After some thinking(for no apperent reason), a game like that could actaully work really well. It won't be for everybody(obviously). If it's made simular to the Pheonix Wright games it will be interesting, but it has to be one hell of a good story.

The sims are boring and they're the best selling games on PC. there's nothing in those games, yet...
I really think a game with good dialog options, where you choose between a few lovers with a strong (stupid and predictable of course) plot could be a bust!

The release days of bigger titles? Where? When? There's no big titles anymore... I got disapointed by Skyrim and ME3 (extremely), Gears of War 3 was good but not great.
And those are the biggest titles on xbox for mid 2011 - mid 2012 (the biggest game console right?). So what big title are you talking about? Please tell me if you know of something.

    Real life...lol.

Edit: While looking at what games they were at the moment I actually found one which is more or less romance it has a good review (a good score anyway didn't read the review).

Diablo 3, the new Starcraft 2 expansion, Guild Wars 2, The CoD games(for some at least) and Draksiders(I'm guessing it's major). Those are at the top of my head, but I'm assuming you game more on xbox than on PC so I don't think this really qualifies, maybe, I don't know, something.....

I don't care about this, but it would be nice if you say the name of the game or link the review.

I don't know if/when diablo 3 gets released on xbox, I'm not sure it'll be great, I have my doubts. If it is at least as good as Neverwinter nights 2 I'm happy.
CoD is only worth it on mutli. Darksiders seems ok but not major.
The other games are only for PC and don't seem that great.

I want a game with cool characters "alive". Something like Skyrim but with a good story and good characters even if the world has to be 5 times smaller...
    I'll cross fingers for Diablo3.

On jexvideo.com (french site), the number 18 of top 20 xbox games is romance I think. "Catherine":

Anyway, 5-10 years ago I though games would improve on the stuff I loved in Gothic, and all that is the same. Skyrim and other rpg's have tried just a tiny bit... All that has improved is shinny stuff here and there. But the games aren't better today.

Hm, finished both and....while some things could be done a lot better, but overall...me3 and entire me series is one of the best games if you ask me. The athmosphere, the npcs, the story....sorry, but i haven't seen many games that surpases those two....so i do wonder if you could clarify that a bit?

I mean, i always liked gothic for example, and it's npc's, but, i always thought baldur's gate series had much better npc's, and now i think i can finally say, that with ME trilogy, finally came a game that made npc's even better then bg. And gothic, while great game, doesn't come even close on this aspect...

Yeah Mass Effect 1&2 are some of the best games ever.
You're right Mass Effect 1&2 characters are cool and have stuff to say.
Mass Effect 3 beggining and the part with the Geths and when you're are on the Turian planet and when you fight a reaper during the Quarian quests is great. That's 25% of the (really short) game which is great. The rest...greatly disapointing.

I believe the Japanese pump out hentai games like crazy. You will have to learn Japanese in order to play most of those I'm afraid..... and no, I can't speak or read Japanese to any meaningful degree either.

I figure this is a sufficient amount of romance for a computer game.

This has been on my mind recently whilst hopelessly shipping Male Hawke/Anders, and I have to say, yes!!1 Bioware has the right of it, but the romance options they usually toss are either tantalisingly (or rather, blue-ball-inducingly) tentative or sometimes saccharine or...

oh wait, 2012? why am I even answering?
