    AC1 had the best setting, story, hero and antagonists for me.
    But the later games have undoubtedly the better gameplay.

    I finally started Dragon Age Origins, awesome game, it's one of those games that you start and then can't get away from your keyboard because you wanna know what happens next. Finally a game for my kind (don't ask), DA is exactly what I wanted to play for a long time now, I guess NWN2 and the KOTORs left their scars on me. Bye bye Skyrim.

    Good choise Mikel.. I've enjoied countless of hours of DA origins.. That was one game in which I completed all the side quests becaus ethey were all interesting.. Unlike in Skyrim where I'd just stick to the main story cuz all the other quests were so much all the same..

    Anyhow Oblivion is on hold for now.. Since I got my hands on :

    And I gotta say I have never been a fan of football or football games.. But last two years we have played a lot of soccer with workmates.. won some turneys (port of stockholm cup, Tallink cup etc).. So i thought I'd give it a go.. And whoa it's almost 4AM, time to go to bed.. ah well one more game maybe..

    Tried it yesterday and even today. Letterbox + shitty controls + no gamepad = no playing it for a while.

    [Bild: DayZ-Featured-600x368.jpg]

    I got ArmA II when Steam had it on sale but I soon realized 90% of the online ArmA players are playing the DayZ mod instead of the actual game. From what I understand ArmA II sales are spiking because of this buggy-ass mod.

    The point of DayZ is to mix the combat "realism" and large maps of ArmA with exploration and looting, PvP and team play, semi-persistency, survival mechanics, zombie apocalypse and hardcore (aka iron man) rules, where the death of your character is literal. The concept is just as great as it sounds, but right now the mod aptly calls itself an Alpha. All the bugs, glitches and worst of all cheating and hacking, are making the game quite frustrating. Besides, sometimes you might find yourself running around the forest for a long time doing nothing and that can be boring. Crossing more populated areas with a character you care about is quite adrenalinic, though. You can behave like a bandit and shoot the shit out of everyone or be a good guy and help others (the ones that don't shoot you on sight, that is), or simply be a lone wolf or a guy in a team of survivors, but there isn't much of an endgame for friendly people. Most people who have already looted everything they need are just sitting on top of hills sniping noobs and not much else. Then again people who only have an axe and a can of beans can be just as antagonistic. You can't trust anyone and because of the "realism" anyone can kill anyone else in a fraction of a second.
    Anyway, the guy who made this mod is working with the developers of ArmA and they will be developing DayZ as a standalone game. They can't screw this up, this is exactly what the PC scene needs.

    @Bastardo

    I wish Dean "Rocket" Hall the best of luck in dveloping the stand-alone version of DayZ, even though i never played it. The concept seems cool.

    Done. Another Borderlands rip off. But very linear. The open world only serves as an excuse for the developers to send you back to previous levels, and yet the game is not lengthy at all. When it starts, it looks like a cool game but by the halfway mark it feels kind of lame and at the end they don't even give you a badass boss for bonus points. Just another corridor. Fun gunplay and nice looks though, and the A.I. is pretty good. Unfortunately the engine performs like crap. The game would've been better off developed as a straightforward, classic FPS.

    DayZ inspired me to play Call of Pripyat without reloads, top difficulty. Somehow I managed to survive all the surprise encounters with anomalies and mutants the game threw at me and was merrily on my way to Pripyat (endgame) but then the Monolith squad in the underground pass first killed my allies and then sniped me dead.

    I must say S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a very good game for hardcore playthroughs.

    Well... yeah. Deus Ex is slightly like Gothic in the sense that nothing remotely like it will ever be made again.
    I'm going to play it again.
