Nachdem schon in den USA einige »Space-Editions« von Mass Effect 3 ihren Weg in die Umlaufbahn gefunden haben, wurde heute eine weitere Version aus London ins All gestartet. Zwei Spezial-Versionen des Action-Rollenspiels starten ihre Reise am 29. Februar.

er Publisher Electronic Arts hat seinen Marketing-Stunt zum kommenden Action-Rollenspiel Mass Effect 3 in London gestartet. Um 11:30 Uhr Ortszeit sind zwei Space-Editions zu Mass Effect 3 in die Umlaufbahn geschossen worden. Die Space Edition von Mass Effect 3 bietet neben einem Exemplar der Xbox 360-, oder PlayStation 3-Version auch ein Shirt, ein Sweatshirt, eine Mütze, ein Artbook, eine Wasserflasche und eine Kuriertasche.


Als Gesamtwert des Pakets gibt EA eine Summe von 500 US-Dollar an.
In den USA wurden schon am 23., 24. und 25. Februar insgesamt sechs Space Editions an Spieler vergeben ( GameStar berichtete). Diese wurden in San Francisco, Las Vegas und New York abgefeuert. Zwei dieser Spezial-Versionen starten in Berlin am 29. Februar um 7:00 und 9:00 Uhr.

Manche Fans müssen einfach alles haben, was es von einem Spiel gibt. Ob das nun Bücher, Figuren oder eben DLCs sind, alles wird eingesackt. Bei Mass Effect 3 kostet euch dieser Sammelwahn gar mehrere hundert Euro.
Wer ein großer Fan der Mass Effect Franchise ist, sollte morgen unbedingt auf unsere Seite kommen, denn dann startet ein großes Gewinnspiel zu Mass Effect 3. Was ihr dort genau gewinnen könnt, verrate ich euch allerdings noch nicht - nur so viel: Es handelt sich um mehr, als nur das Spiel.

Aber ich kann euch schon mal verraten, was ihr hinblättern müsst, wenn ihr sämtliche Downloadinhalte für Mass Effect 3 haben wollt. Diese gibt es nämlich teilweise nur, wenn man ein bestimmtes Hardware-Bundle oder auch eine Figur kauft. Wie unsere Kollegen von Destructoid errechneten, würde es somit satte 870 US Dollar (ca. 650 Euro) kosten, an sämtliche Mass Effect 3 DLCs zu kommen.

EA freut sich mit Bioware über eine sehr hohe Anzahl von Mass Effect 3-Vorbestellungen in UK. Man sei bereits über den gesetzten Zielen und Erwartungen und verbucht bereits mehr Vorabkäufe als noch bei Mass Effect 2. Zudem verspricht EA eine "Triple A"-Werbekampagne für das kommende Action-Rollenspiel.

EA hat in UK Angaben zu den Vorbestellungen für Mass Effect 3 gemacht. Das Action-Rollenspiel verkaufe sich bereits über den Erwartungen. Electronic Arts hat bekannt gegeben, dass sich Mass Effect 3 bereits vor dem Release blendend verkauft. Die Vorbestellerzahlen seien im Vereinigten Königreich (UK) bereits über den gesetzten Zielen und Erwartungen. Man sei mit Teil 3 zu diesem Zeitpunkt erfolgreicher als mit Mass Effect 2 – ebenso eine Woche vor dem entsprechenden Release. Absolute Zahlen nannte der Publisher nicht, auf diese müssen wir noch warten.Gleichzeitig verspricht EA eine "Tripple A"-Werbekampagne für das Action-Rollenspiel. In den nächsten Tagen sollen Werbespots in TV, Kino, im Internet, in Magazinen für die nötige Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Es sollen zudem weitere Trailer, Social Media-Aktivitäten und mehr kommen. The production of Mass Effect 3 was not without casualties. BioWare’s Robyn Théberge tells us of the demise of The Illusive Van; the abduction of grandma’s dog; and other adventures.

Mass Effect 3 is coming out next week. We’ve been waiting to stick it to the Reapers good and proper since the first release in late 2007.
This one comes with co-operative multiplayer, so you can continue sticking it to the Reapers for years should you so desire.
Resume your romantic love affairs carried over from the first two games, or deal with the consequences of your infidelity. New players: Enjoy pre-manufactured drama. Someone will explain it to you as you go along.


Two years into her career at BioWare, Robyn Théberge is the associate product manager for Mass Effect 3′s audio, visual effects and user interface teams – which is a pretty hefty job. Not only is Mass Effect 3 one of the most anticipated releases of the quarter (if not the year), it’s huge; even just one aspect of the game – in this case, the audio – is a mammoth undertaking.

“The interesting thing, the implication of a Mass Effect MMO has so many expectations. We already bit off a big thing to chew with a Star Wars MMO, and that’s not so small,” BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk told the PA Report when asked about an MMO set in the Mass Effect universe.

“It’s daunting, but the neat thing is it would lend itself to a different type of game play. It’s fun to think about. I imagine people think it would be just like Mass Effect as it is… but there’s lots of people there. It’s really interesting, I don’t know. It’s a tough one.”

And they answered.
I was talking to BioWare co-founders, doctors Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, about a lot of things during an interview earlier this month in Las Vegas. The query just popped into my head. Maybe it all crosses over. Here's how the conversation went...
(One bit of set-up that you need to know: People at this site have long needled the BioWare chiefs for using the phrase "emotionally engaging" many more times in a conversation than is normal. Zeschuk was in on the joke by the time we did this interview. Muzyka was not, but caught on during the conversation as Zeschuk started to keep a tally—they got to 7 during our half-hour conversation.)

Two men who tried to raffle off one of the early Mass Effect 3 "Space Edition" copies decided to call their plan off, after discovering their actions could include possible jail time. Kotaku reported earlier today that videomakers Michael Davis and Miguel Droz were holding a lottery where folks interested in winning a copy of the game early could pay $5 for a ticket, with 30 percent of the accumulated cash going to the Child's Play charity. One tiny problem: It's all so illegal.

Former Law of the Game on Joystiq columnist Mark Methenitis explained that the pair could have faced jail time or massive fines in their home state of Nevada, to say nothing of the federal implications for taking cash from across the country.

Droz told Kotaku this afternoon that they should have done their due diligence and are refunding everyone's money. They "super apologize" for wasting anyone's time. Guess they'll just have to suffer through playing Mass Effect 3 now instead of selling it off. Source: Kotaku
