Hello,

I started playing NotR again, after a long time and I got stuck and really can't figure out what to do.
-at the start of the game I helped Cavalorn defeat the bandits but he didn't give me any ornament fragment, subsequently, I don't have "The Portal" quest active in my journal.
-after being accepted in the Ring of Water, I had a choice to ask Lares to escort me to Onar or to Saturas, so I told him to take me to Onar. After that, I couldn't ask him to get me to Saturas.
-when I went to the water mages, they didn't give me any quests.

What should I do?

It's well known bug. To get the quest you'll have to cheat I think. Go to Lares, enter MARVIN mode and click O while focused on Lares. Find ornament in his inventory, drop it, go back to your body, take the ornament. Now, I think, you should be able to receive the quest (bring the ornament to Saturas, then tell Nefarius that you brought ornament and offer to help). I may be wrong. If it is so, correct me.

By the way, you will get the ornament fragment from Lord Hagen, not Cavalorn. And only when you try to operate the mechanism (stone circle near Lobart's farm) and talk to Cavalorn nearby about it. And you won't be able to travel to the forest with Lares... You'll have to do it alone.

You didn't mention it.

Also fun to notice certain members of an highly secret order with nice rings to be naked after a certain meeting.
Or is that because of Nature's Fury? (mod)

About the patch:
- Fixed several text and dialogue errors.
- Certain Lines in Vatras & Lares' dialogue are now in English.
- Appraising your Goldmining Ability is now in English.
- A few more XP Bonuses.
- On the quest to get Thorben's approval, getting a blessing from Isgaroth now gives you a 100 XP bonus.
- The Stunt Bonus is now 1000 XP.
- Joining Morgan's and/or Henry's Raiding Troop now grants a 50 XP Bonus.
- Toughened up the Black Wolf of the Novice Quest, Boars & Field Raiders now yield 100 XP when killed, Ice Wolves now yield 250 XP.
- Fire Devils, and Shadowbeast Skeletons are now slightly tougher.
- Bartok is tougher, so it's less difficult to keep him alive on the "Furs for Bosper" Quest.
- Giant Rats are tougher than Young Giant Rats. Wolves, Minecrawlers, Bloodflies, Snappers, and Razors now have stats similar to Gothic I.
- Lares can now provide the Simple Way to join all 3 guilds.
- Fixed the notorious "Stuck Ornament Bug" with Lares.
- Fixed a bug with the Bandit's Tower Quest.
- Fixed the bug where the Dragons occasionally yield no trophies.
- The Orc Attack Video no longer crashes the game.

As I joined Henry's party, can I still join Morgans? I know I don't have the patch as I didn't get the 50xp for this.

I wouldn't recommend to install the patch and then load a save game. It could mess the things up... but you can try. If it doesn't work, just uninstall the patch (if it can't be uninstalled, just reinstall the game).

I wouldn't say that you "join" their troops. You just do a quest for them as a "troop member".
About Bartok - I always knock him out after hunting with him. Just use "sleep" spell on him, knock him out, take everything from his inventory, when he wakes up just use "oblivion" spell.

You can not put him to sleep and take his stuff,as soon as you focus on him and click he will wake up.You have to knock him out by beating him up to get his stuff.

@ioszhka Cavalorn does not give you the ornament piece,Vatras gives it to you.You then give it to Lares.You can only get Lares to bring it to the water mages after you get Baltram to relieve Lares.(Talk to Baltram while wearing the "ring of water" that Lares gives you.)

You can not put him to sleep and take his stuff,as soon as you focus on him and click he will wake up.You have to knock him out by beating him up to get his stuff.

You can put him to sleep, draw your sword and just beat him... try it. I knock out Sentenza this way.

You mean, he doesn't get enough time to draw his weapon?

No, I mean he sleeps while you hit him. I think you have 30 seconds to knock him out (11 seconds more that with the ice block). Too bad it's for humen only. But it really helps with Cassia, Sentenza, Bartok and some other random guys.
