First you say "they need help" and than you say "we need help"... Is there a reason for that?
Also if we don't thrust piranha with creating the game and send our ideas, we can't say that the game is in GOOD HANDS. Sure, maybe a thought or two but I think they know what they're doing.

Usually I don't quite agree with Faby, but this time, I definetly do. And I'd just -love- to play in Jharkendar while it was a powerful culture. That'd be just plain awesome (not to mention they resemble (their architechture in gothic 2) Native american (Mayan, I think) culture (LoL, with Viking rune writings...)which I've always found fascinating anyway.
So maybe if we had a game with title somewhere like "Gothic: The final age of Jharkendar" or just plain "Gothic: Jharkendar", I'd definetly purchase that one.
Don't try to keep something alive that is dying it's like trying to resurrect a dead body!
Rest in peace Gothic.
PS, Jharkendar is a mix between Maya's and Egypt's.

How did they ever get the idea to put something central American into
a medieval European locale? When I first played G2 classic and I ran
into that pyramid I just kind of shook my head. Huh?
And then there's always these people who must criticize something irrelevant.
Gothic doesn't quite go according to any history books, I think? Or else there's some bigass orc fossils yet to be found.
Therefor I quite believe central american-LIKE- ruins are acceptable in a fantasy game, right?
And in gothics 1 and 2 those ruins certainly had nothing Egyptish in them. Only this imposter called gothic3 (Officially Arcania 1 for me) had those ruins in Egypt style. Possibly because PB felt it looks more bad-ass in a desert. (I think it certainly would have been much more bad-ass to have some Mayan ruins in a desert. That'd have been quite original.)
Guys this Gothic 5 will be a shit ...

I've had a really bad day and I have to relieve my tension. Hold still...
Ich habe die Welt schon zweimal gerettet... jetzt bist du an der Reihe.
To me the tombs in G3 didn't look Egyptian at all, more near-East, which
wouldn't have been so jarring in G2
waitttt so you telling me pirahna bytes went back to gothic?!?!
Zitat von cambrano
Oh come on haters...
I think Gothic 5 WILL BE EPIC.
It just HAS to be epic. Gothic 4 just failed hard because it wasn`t developed by PB (the gods).
And Gothic 3? JoWood wasn`t only publisher, they told PB most of the things they have to do (story e.g.).
So now we have Deep Silver (great publisher) and Piranha Bytes (gods) and of course they do the best they can now to make
the error of gothic 4 good
Trust me and don't be that pessimistic...
Here comes my idea.

Starting : You Hokarus are fishing. Then you pull out your fishing net and notice that in it is a strange stone. Then you touch the stone and suddenly you are in a strange land. That stone was teleport stone. You try to use it again to get back but it won't work...
Gothic: Back to the Old Camp
I am a 16 year old fan (i love the series very much) and i agree at some points.... but i think that a new plot, storyline or anything that will continue the story will dissapoint anyone cause the story ended at forsaken gods where the hero becomes king Rhobar III... either leting the series die is not a good solution...
I think that my solution is the best so hear it goes.....
It's called "Gothic: Back to The Old Camp" this is the remake of The first 2 Gothics(in one single game) that everyone loved and some people said those are the best ones... the same plot, many new quests added new graphics Engine, the same Gothic atmosphere and some new atmospheric stuff like dynamic wheather added and you won't be able to get out of the Collony until you kill the Sleeper...
when you finally kill the Dragons and the game ends you gains some more experience and you get back to Khorinis for some free roam to end some unfinished quest or just travle around and hunt at this wonderful island ( you can add some small islands like Jharkendar) so everybody will experience The 2 first EPIC Gothic games refreshed and better ( when i say better Graphics i mean even better then Risen 2)
I think THIS would be AWSSOME !!!!!

NH and his buds could always set out to find the dawgz who stole the Esmerlda.
I am sorry to say this but think gothic series is dead gothic 3 campaign for me was boring and not that engaging now that the community patch team who did a great job fixing all bugs and fight system I could forgive gothic 3 for the let down however campaign was not as good as gothic 1 and 2 and they lost the atmosphere meeting new NCP and becoming good friends I know sound crazy the way gothic 1 and 2 worked they introduced you to mercenaries guild set camp ect you meet NCP you became good friends you helped them they helped you all that mechanics was lost in gothic 3.
Now gothic 4 comes along and completely arse rapes the gothic story with crap AI, bad Acting that makes you cringe (the Witch of Fates), crap Fight system which takes excitement away from fighting and huge open world explore or should i say sand box world until move on next part> I mean gothic 4 was the nails in the coffin for the gothic series I really cant see how they can go forward with a gothic 5 you are not even playing as the original nameless hero.
the only way I can see a come back is by an entire reboot of the gothic series with a complete rethink of gothic 3 and 4 campaign and no New hero.
Has anyone seen the new risen 2 so far its not getting any good reviews pirinabytes is also struggling come up with a good fight system I looked on youtube and I would have to say I was not impressed plus whole idea turning pirate in the game does not mix well with sword and shield era type fantasy bringing muskets into the game has destroyed the experience for me. risen 1 had good potential risen 2 has went different direction with new story which does not relate well to the first game its a shame.
G3 was/is different. Unfortunately, after I clean up and clean out the area basically of the demo (do most players start that way? too) I just lose focus
and start to just create all kinds of crazy shit.
And Steam charges for the Risen 2 demo? A cold day in hell, as they say.
