Hi, I have been trying to get patch for Gothic 2, I am new to this site so not very good at getting around it yet. I found a page for patches clicked on Gothic 2 but it comes up in German, can anyone direct me to the patches for Gothic 2 in English, my game does not play well it keeps freezing after a few minutes thought a patch might help. Thanks.

Tell us what kind of hardware do you have. Also what Windows.

Do you have just G2 or also Night of the Raven addon installed (or perhaps you have G2 Gold)?

I have Gothic 2 don't have the add-on, it used to play brilliantly, I have XP. I reloaded the game to play again, loads perfectly, but after few minutes freezes and unplayable.

I also get it in the German version, but when I replace '.de' with '.com' I get the English one, from that:
Choose the Downloads tab, in German it's totally different.
You get a list with downloads:

• Arcania
• Gothic
• Gothic 2
• Gothic 3

Click on the link: Gothic II Patches:
Then you get this.

It's wrong just because it doesn't say what version is for. It's just for the NotR/Gold editions (2.6). The 1.3 patch doesn't exist (anymore) on the En Download page.

You mean there are NO patches at all on the EN Download page...
the only thing left here is:

Is this a patch? I don't think it is... I may be wrong but otherwise, well, I think that the people who need the latest Gothic II patch, want em quick and in English, so do I.

There are many who want them quick and in German, too.

I'll add perhaps tomorrow the 1.30 patch to the EN section.

Here's what I suggest:

Copy your saved games somewhere and reinstall the game. Perhaps that should fix it

Installed G2-NOTR, from the Gothic Universe pack
(which is the Gold, I guess).
It was the the first program on a reformatted C drive
with a fresh copy of Win XP,
with only chipset, sound and graphics installed beforehand.

And then I installed Ironkeep Studios, G2_Gold CP, ver 2.00 (without
any previous play/saves).

Now, I've never experienced this before, but when I got to Jhakendar, some
weirdness began. For example:

Talking with Skip first time, my dialogue offers info that Hank and
Angus are dead! I haven't even inquired about them yet.

Samuel tells me Francis got what he had coming to him. Even tho, I
haven't talked to Francis yet. And the info of digging up the
paybook is not present.

The dialogue Greg speaks admonishing Francis for being a lazy bum doesn't
happen after I raid his hut. and then they just kind of sit/stand inside of
each other thereafter.

On first meeting Sancho tells me about how I killed
Franco and Esteban?

Dialogue asking Ramon about "the" Thorus is missing. Plus, the guy who
is supposed to replace Franco doesn't go
down to take his place, but just stands on the stairs by Fortuna.

At first meeting, Thorus offers dialogue that is only available after Raven
is dead.

As I like to skip the 'adventure game' aspect in the
bandit camp, i prefer to take out Franco and Esteban with a blade

The named digger who sits outside Snaf's place offers
remarks that I have killed Senyan, yet he's still standing there.

Garaz goes down to inspect the mine after the minecrawlers are dead, yet
Bloodwyn is still alive, resulting in having to kill him in
the temple.

Only Patrick leaves the mine, the other prisoners stay behind. And their 'twins'
are all back home in Khorinis.

Now, the weidest thing of all, while I sauntered back to
talk with the watermages (not yet having gone to the valley
to get Hagen's evidence) all of the monsters that spawn later
when you return are now present!

Game play before entering the portal was normal.

Go figure, something obviously got scrambled.
It's funny in a way. If I had never played
this, I would have taken that this was how things are, but...

Should have tried G2 CP 2.10, not 2.00.

But the list of bugs is indeed somewhat amusing.

Then again, it is possible that this was a freak accident, and he had played it before with CP 2.0 without any such bug.

Well, since I like G2 classic and just find the NOTR a chore
it doesn't matter. I downloaded the patches and this
was the highest, latest? one I found.
