Gothic2: should i become apprentice of constantino or ignaz?(spoiler)
becoming an apprentice of constantino means handing over rare herbs.
becoming an apprentice of ignaz means to carry out a silly experiment.
but i need to learn alchemy to produce my own potions.

I do not recall the possibility to become Ignaz' apprentice. You can do a quest for him, but that is all.
You have only 3 choices when you decide your apprenticeship. Constantino, Bosper or Harad.
If you don't like the idea of handing over rare herbs, don't worry too much about it - you can buy them back from him afterwards.
Otherwise, if you decide to accept another apprenticeship, you still retain the option of learning how to make advanced potions from him later in the game.
Do what you like - you can't be wrong in this matter.

You have only 3 choices:
- Constantino - alchemy
- Bosper - hunting
- Harad - smith
But to choose constantino isn't usefull because if you learnd the basic alchemy by Ignaz Constantino will teach you too even if you choosed an other one.
But I think there is an other way to get forging skills too. Next to Ignaz is a smith too.
You can get teh hunting skills which you will get by Boser by other persons too (I guess - never played it).
The real decision is which way you want to earn additional money. Constantino buys herbs, Bosper skins and you can buy ore by harad and sell him swords. But hm.... Do you have to be an apprentice to sell these person this stuff?

I think it´s only take effect to the price, but you can surely trade with them, apprentice or not.

No. You can't trade with Harad unless you are his apprentice (the only exception is the ore-sword you can be as a knight).

This smith doesn't teach smith (just strength). If you want to become a smith, you have to learn from Dobar (in the castle in the colony), Harad (as his apprentice), Bennet (normal sword for everybody and other swords as a mercenary) or Jan (teaches ore weapons like Bennet, but not all).

That's not right. You can't buy ore by Harad.

THX for clearing things up, but one thing:
You only get one hunting skill by Bosper (take skin).
Sorry, but that is not right, take a look here:

There are listed that you can learn "Skin the Fur of animals" from:
- Bosper
- Gaan
- Grom
- Raoul
- Talbin

I criticised Sowilo, because he said that you get hunting skills by Bosper. But Bosper teaches you only one thing - take skin (the list agrees with me in this point).
I never said that Bosper is the only one you can learn this from.
I said:

You only get one hunting skill by Bosper (take skin).
and not
You get one hunting skill only by Bosper (take skin).
You see the difference?

To add something to this: you can only learn the 'skin' skill from Raoul after you join a guild and accept his 'Black Hide' quest. Beware, the quest requires you to get a Black Troll`s skin...
@ egndgf I understood what you meant.

That's not right. You can't buy ore by Harad.
I don't mean ore I mean the thing which you need to make a sword. No idea how it is called in the English version. And I can't remember if you buy it directly by Harad or by his apprentice but you can buy sth which you need to forge swords.

I am sry I mean Bennet.
You only get one hunting skill by Bosper (take skin).
And this skill isn't Bosper exklusive, isn't it?
edit: the "s"... ok. I prefer to write things like this in plural.

You are speaking of steel (I don't know how it is called in the English version either). But you are unable to buy it from Harad, you buy it from his apprentice Brian (but Brian sells steel even if you are not an apprentice of Harad).

This skill isn't Bosper exklusive. Werner listed some teachers for this skill:
- Bosper
- Gaan
- Grom
- Raoul
- Talbin

Raw steel or Red Hot Steel or Red Hot Blade or just Blade...these are the ones required for smithing. But don't ask me where are they used

In Gothic 1, these things were used to make swords, but in Gothic 2 you don't need all of them.
