Gothic 2 NotR Mana question.
In NotR does mana work in the same way as other attributes, requiring more learning points to increase it as it gets higher? Do the new Adanos runes cost the same to learn as the Innos runes?

---> Moved to Help Section.

AFAIK, if you are a mage (I mean a member of a magic guild) learning mana always costs just 1SP/1MP. If you are not a mage, then yes, it works as other attributes. And yes, the new runes cost about as much as the old runes.
Brothers of Metal will always be there, standing together with hands in the air!
VIVA GOTHIC!

Well, the 1mp/lp wasn't this way when I played fire-mage in notr days ago, when I reached 70/70 or maybe 100/100 learning started to cost 5mp/20lp :O, it was annoying, so i had to use marvin to change guild to Dragon-Hunter. Maybe something got bugged with my game. :\

In NotR the LP-costs for attributes and combat skills look as follows:
10-30: 1 LP per Point
31-60: 2 LP per Point
61-90: 3 LP per Point
91-120: 4 LP per Point
From 120: 5 LP per Point
The guild is here irrelevant.
This was in Gothic 2 Vanilla, where the LP-Costs of mana was 1 LP/MP as a novice/mage and 2LP/MP for the other guild or as a guildless.
Vice versa for the other attributes and for the combat skills.

...So in Night of the Raven, as a magician of Fire, mana works in thesame way as strength and dexterity in NotR?

Yes.

I'm thinking of doing it as a mage again, as you may have guessed. It seems that while making combat more difficult to train it has made magic easier...unlike strength or dexterity, mana doesn't have any say over damage done to an opponent.

Also, what is the best armour that a mage can get?

This is the Heavy Fire Robe (100/100/50/50), which you will get in the 3rd chapter from Pyrokar, after

There's no need for the spoiler alert, this will be the 4th time I've played, 2nd on NotR. That's not good, why do other factions get better armour

Where can the magic armour be found? The one that looks like the Robe of the Dark Arts but flaming?

As a mage you will use magic attacks from a long distance. So an enemy shouldn't hit you.
In the late game, you will be able to use rain of fire or wave of death, which can kill a huge amount of enemies.
But you will get in 5th chapter, after you have read the almanac below the cellar of the monastery, the Divine Aura of Innos (+30 protection from all) Pyrokar on request.

You can only get this armor by cheats.
The cheat is "insert ItAr_FireArmor_Addon"
Here is a tutorial about activating the cheat mode (marvin mode) if necessary:
- Open the screen with the character stats (b or c by default)
- Then type marvin
- Close the screen (An information for an activated marvin mode should be the at the left head of the display)
- Open the console with F2
- There you type in the following code and press enter after typing this code: insert ItRi_Ranger_Addon
- Then press F2 again to close the console
To deactivating the marvin mode open the screen with the character stats again and there you type in 42 and close the screen and at the left head of the display should stand the sentence What was the question?

Hm...not too much better than the Eye itself...when I get the heavy robe I will probably change it for the magic armour, a simple cosmetic change. I have played the game many times before, just not NotR as a mage.

2 best choices for playing notr (but hard at the begining) are magician and dex based palladin
i just hate why the eye of innos suck so much, it does nothing except that you can talk with those dragons =_=, pretty lame for a divine power of the god...

because fire mages get an amulet for more armor ?
it was 'divine aura of innos or something like that'
...
checked it, +20 to all defenses

The Eye of Innos, when charged adds 15 to all armour ratings! I have played as a magician in normal G2 and found it pretty hard, it required a lot of SP for little damage, it's good to see that they rectified this in NotR.
-
I take that back, the higher the circle of the rune, the more LP it takes to learn it
-
Adventurer
In NOTR:
Eye Of Innos: Weapon 10, Arrow 10, Fire 30, Magic 20
Divine Aura Of Innos: 30 for all
-
Hmm...I thought it was more for each...
