Gothic2: a guinea pig for Mr Ignaz`s experiment
I am currently at the port area, seeking a candidate guinea pig for mr Ignaz oblivion (nothing to do with next TES release, i fear). I have tried to knock down Moe at level four, wolf knife, leather armor, but the guy is a hard bone to bite.
what candidate do you think might be elligible for this science breakthrough?

If you want to kill two birds with one stone try Valentino.
You'll find there is another quest linked to him. Preferably, when he leaves the pub and is on his way back home. Timing is essential.

Or the wife of Thorben, talk before with.. ehm.. I belive Bosper.

She is his NEICE and lives in the house behind his sawing place
But the quest can be done without beating her up, just intimidating her

By the way, how do I beat up? What is the hotkey for wrestling? I tried the sword, it did not work with some guys.
-
Do you mean how to use your fists? Well if thats what you're asking, just unequip your weapon.

Hrgll.. whatever. Beat her up, get gold and use the scroll. Talk with the Thorben named Matteo and go back to Ignaz -> XP
-
Hey guys what are you talking about he wants to use Oblivion right
Why not to beat Ignaz himself I always do that
-
Knock down Matteo's niece. She's alone, can be knocked with one hit, and you get your 100 gold back too. That's the best way of solving that quest.

Better than just talking with her for two seconds? Anyway...that's your opinion but i don't think that doing like that will cause some good in another quest.

that is the issue - if i unequip my weapon, and try to knock, using the action key, it starts a dialogue instead of knocking - what is wrong?

Fist-fighting can be started by pressing the key below the ESC-key - it's the one with "^" on my keyboard, whatever it is on yours.
Knocking down a young lady however, even if she turns out to be a spoiled brat, is not becoming of the future hero of Khorinis.
I would turn my attentions to Valentino. He too is a spoiled brat, but he deserves a special treatment.

Just use your sword.
*If* you payed attention to which guys got killed instead of knocked down you'd have figured out that they're either: Bandits, Robbers, Guards (leather armoured), Highwaymen, seekers, or the 2 militia near bengar's farm.

i don`t use the combo of forward + action but only action to fight (therefore not the usual Gothic 2 NofR config).
What is the difference between beat up and fight with the sword?
When I beat up Moe at the pub with the sword, he did not die but fainted.

To kill a NPC for good just press CTRL+UP(or the coresponding key for interaction wich you set) and the hero will do the so called "final blow" killing the NPC's wich is down for ever
1. Is not recomandet to kill NPC's because in some cases the others may interfere if you kill someone with "final blow", but for "a good trashing" not
2. You can kill them this way only with swords and not with blunt weapons

i see i am a little snow to get to the point. so:
(a) is there a hotkey for `fist`?
(b) beating up means using the sword? when i unequip and turn to an NPC, instead of knocking him i start a dialogue.

a) no
b)Yes, beating up mean using the sword. It is pointless to try with fists, you will do so little damage.

b - like cipris said. You don´t have to unequip the weapon in the inventory, it´s enough when it´s not drawn, mean, when you don´t have the weapon in your hands. (space)
