Zitat von Guckmaleinschalter
Hallo
Was habe ich wohl falsch gemacht?

Urlaub.

Hello everyone, I've been playing this mod on and off for a long long time ever since 2.4.3 came out. It feels like a year, maybe more, maybe less. The mod is so big I took 2 long breaks from it. In game it says it took me 110+ hours but I am sure there is 30/50 hours more somewhere between saves etc. Besdies I skipped a lot of quests (but to be fair there are quite a few boring fetch quests).
Now as a disclaimer I want to say this is the best mod for Gothic 2 and I loved it a lot but in this review I will both say good and bad things about it. But not because I didn't like the mod, merely to be honest. However, the work you put in is amazing and it is pretty much almost AAA quality game to me.
1st island was amazing, so much fun on it, funny characters (especially those 2 dorks who always refer to each other) amazing exploration. Only a little bit too much going back and forth. Then after finally leaving it, it was all a lot of fun without much repetitiveness right up until Khorins. Khornis itself was also very interesting to explore and nicely changed. Amazing factions, interesting quests and the massive battle were epic. Jharkendar felt unnecessary but at least I got the claw.
Then came Varant. It was beautifully done, with many interesting cities, characters. Albeit it was a bit too big with many empty spaces, but I guess it is a desert. But for Gothic it was slightly to vast. It also made a lot of sense that people would test my already high level character who maxed out almost all the abilities but honestly I had already spent 70 hours in game and all the *test* quests for influence so people would start taking me seriously and would let me in cities, in palaces etc was just getting boring. Soo instead of following the path of quests I just slaughtered my way through the assassins, ravaged their cities and managed to glitch myself inside the temple and killed everyone there which finally let me go to Myrtana.
Myrtana is beautifully crafted with beautiful layout. The location design is just the best in this mod. The Royal Castle has some very interesting quests and npcs. Nordmar looked absolutely beautiful and probably cooler than in Gothic 3. Beautiful enemy storngholds etc. However, Myrtana and Nordmar areas lack dialogue and interesting quests especially in comparison to the 1st half of the game. It seems like you've become tired of filling these beautiful places with content. And it is understandable because the game is huge and to be fair it is much much bigger than Gothic game should be. So when I got to Myrtana it felt like it became a kill fest action rpg, especially with my amazing fast shooting killer-orc bow and speedring. Most people offered no outside conversation outside quests which weren't many and not much lore. And I also didn't really feel like exploring Valley of mines, so I just ran through it, looked around a little and done the temple quest. (I made two long breaks from the game because I got burned out playing it. 1st was after Varant and 2nd was before Irdorath)
Therefore, I would like to say that the mod is actually too large for Gothic. Because I had an over leveled character that had everything maxed out and I still had a lot of things to kill (I just didn't bother) and a lot of quests to finish. It was also a little bit laggy, either because of how large the maps are or because of how many enemies they hold sometimes. It was more noticable by the time of Varant. And the enemies, boy there are too many high level enemies that are just no fun to kill anymore. In Strongholds for the holy armor and sword and the island of Irdorath. Gosh, I just ran past them, I didn't bother collecting all the eggs and just killed the final boss, Irdorath was just a grind from start to finish with all the grindy quests and enemeis. Btw final boss is epic looking. Which brings me to armors and clothing.
Absolutely, the best clothing and armors in Gothic universe. I even cheated a little bit here stripping certain NPCs of their unique armor. The black knights demonic armor (black paladin), the Sleeper Helmet (soo cool I wish I had known about it earlier than final boss) and assassin's armors. Orc version of Raven's armor is pretty cool. All the helmets are nice and let me really customize my character. Sometimes I would put on an armor that already comes with a helmet and add another helmet on it making some incredibly cool combinations.
The amount of hidden places and secrets, doors behind corners is true to Gothic series. It is so very fun to explore all that hidden stuff and like I said before the game world design is unparalleled. It is cool that this mod features real life animals. And although some animals like leopard were a little bit funny I enjoyed it a lot.
Overall, it is the best Gothic 2 experience I had and it mostly beats the original game! Thank you very much for this mod. Also, walkthrough is very nice! 10/10

Thanks for your detailed feedback!
At what level of difficulty did you play? Maybe you would have had more fun at a higher one, as you seem to have mastered the game mechanics?!
For balancing purposes, it would be nice to know what your final stats are. We'll consider, that you skipped some enemies.
I am currently preparing an english version of the walkthrough for the international community, did you have any trouble with the german version?

No, I google translated the walkthrough so it was actually better since the game was also google translated. That way quest names were the same. So if you play to translate the quest names in good English in walkthrough and then leave their google translated names in game then the walkthrough will be useless.
I played on easy but honestly it was difficult enough. Actually too difficult or "grindy" if you take in the account 600 % protection armors and hp pools of final enemies and their numbers.
I already removed the game unfortunately, but I can tell you that I had all skills to 100%, archery and crossbow to even a higher multiplier for better ranged ( i dont remember what it was, 160% or 200)
all additional skills learned, attributes 30-50 points higher than maximum weapon requirement and after that I just started to invest heavily into Mana and had like 300 mana and my health was so high I could jump from the top of Myrtana castle and land at the bottom of the valley and still have like 80% left. And I did not cheat any XP or fights to make them easy. But I did craft a lot of Fire Rain and then started running with that superfast bow. Essentially I was destroying most normal mobs.

We have had the problem in the past that the level of difficulty has changed during the game. So I suspect that's why he was so heavy on you. In version 2.5 this bug is fixed.
