Bitte kein LAA Hack. Also für Mods zusätzlich Playerkit installieren. Sonst nichts. Keine Patches, kein Systempack, kein 4 GB Patch, nichts.

However, version 1.9 is already available in the Union.
will there be a "standalone" version 1.9 without Union?

The Union as well as the SystemPack supports 8 languages.
No, an online connection is required to download and install the Union (only for Resource manager - Online Installer). Also, you will always be aware of package updates.
An online connection is not required for the game and the Union to work.
Translators will be needed to translate plugins.
And for mods you can use this plugin: Plugin zGlossary | Tool for translators
Try it, maybe you can play them with Union.
The only problem in these mods can be with Lego and Ikarus, we do not deal with the support of these packages since it does not make any sense.
Use SP-1.8 or Union with 1.9..

Hi MaGoth
Should I write in English or German?
Thank you very much for answering all my questions. I think I will switch to Union, since Niko5511 already said that it fixes some problems and optimize memory management etc. And of course the updated SystemPack is also a good reason to switch over to Union.
But as I said, the only thing I don't really like is the Resource Manager, so I would like to ask if it would be possible to provide a "standalone" version of Union + SystemPack in the future (without the Download Manager).
Speaking about the SystemPack 1.8 I'm kind of afraid to use it, since I heard some stories about bugs like missing NPCs etc. Some people recommend to use SystemPack 1.7 instead. I would like to know if that's really true. But as I said, I think I will use Union from now on anyways.
Edit: One more question please. You said maybe it's possible to play modifications with Union, but not the modifications which are using Lego or Ikarus. What will happen if I use Union with a modification which has Lego and / or Ikarus scritps? Will I encounter bugs or will it just crash when I try to start the game? How can I know if a modification can be run with Union or not? The modification "Aus dem Leben eines Diebes" for example, has some Lego scripts as far as I know. What will happen if I try to play it with Union?
I just read that the old SystemPack said the same about Lego and Ikarus. So it was always like that, right? But luckily, I had no problems with any modification so far.

It doesn’t matter, even in Swahili or Russian, I understand.

Sometimes you have to make non-popular decisions, and this is one of them. But if something changes, then the offline version will certainly be released.

You can always check it in the game, it is installed and removed easily.

1. There may be errors or crashes, as all packages use the same address space of the engine to work.
2. There may be errors, either a crash from the game or the game will work fine, it's hard to say.
3. Various errors are possible, although I have not heard about errors when loading a new game related to these packages and the Union. Although maybe there haven't been such mods yet?!
4. It is difficult to say that all mods make changes in the exe file of the game in different ways, only install the mod and play. I do not see another option.

Can you explain a little bit, why you think, that the support of Lego/Ikarus does not make any sense?
What is the reason behind it? Is it because you can do anything with Union what you could do with Lego (and more?) anyway and therefore you think it is not worth the work to make the two compatible and people should rather switch to work with union? Or do you think different on this?

I hope you can see the Chinese Characters here in this forum, not sure about that. Maybe not if you don't have Chinese Characters installed.

I'm convinced now that switching to Union is a good decision. But I have to admit that I would be very happy if a future version would also be released as an offline version (Union + SystemPack, without the Resource Manager).

You can always check it in the game, it is installed and removed easily.
So let's say a bug occurs and a NPCs is missing. Do you think I can just change from 1.8 to 1.7 during a game and after loading the savegame the NPCs will be there? I fear he would be gone forever.

Since there is no difference in this point between Union and the old SystemPack, I will not think about it any more. Should be fine then, I never had any problems so far.
