Hi,
Do you know if it is possible to increase the sightvalue beyond 300 %? I tried just replacing the value in the ini-file with 20, but it didn't work. §gnah Of course, using the zfogzone cheat will increase the view distance, but I want to see further.
I checked this thead http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=83376 Didn't find any info there about this topic, though.
Any suggestions?
Why do you want to increase it over 300? I don't get it............

Well if you maxed up your game settings then you should tweak around with the graphic card.
For example most of the Ati and Nvidia cards have Anisotropic Filters, Antialiasing settings and stuff like that. I'm sure that after some tests you will notice some change in the graphics and probably in the view range too. ;)
Of course, using the zfogzone cheat will increase the view distance, but I want to see further.
If you tried this then i can't think of any other thing that would help you with your request. Sorry.

I think it goes up to 400%,... i´ll have to check it out...
Anyway to do so:
b
marvin
b
f2
zfogzone
set clippingfactor x (x=value, i.e. 2.5 = 250%, 4 = 400%)
zset vobfarclipzscaler x (x=value, i.e. 2.5 = 250%, 4 = 400%)
f2
b

Thanks WernerTWC for the tips!
I didn't know about the "zset vobfarclipzscaler 4" - cheat. I read that it "adjusts far clipping plane for objects". What does that mean? To me it looked like some trees and other objects could be seen from further away.

I have tested it with G2 and it works great. But you really got to have a good PC to handle the range view(more exactly RAM) ;)

To be more exact it increases the view distance of Mobs(objects in Gothic). i.e trees...
PS : Thread is there a way to see farther merged with How to increase the view distance?

You can do this:
b
marvin
b
f2
zfogzone
set clippingfactor x (x=value, i.e. 2.5 = 250%, 4 = 400%)
zset vobfarclipzscaler x (x=value, i.e. 2.5 = 250%, 4 = 400%)
f2
b
42
b
And i found out, that the cheat:
zhighqualityrender
brings also "something".
If you have a good (modern) PC with 1GB RAM, then you can edit the Gothic.ini in the system-folder in order to get a better performance:
You find there the entry [ENGINE], change the values to this:
zTexCacheOutTimeMSec=480000
zTexCacheSizeMaxBytes=128000000
zSndCacheOutTimeMSec=20000
zSndCacheSizeMaxBytes=40000000
That i have tested on my PC (AMD 64 3200+, 1028MB RAM, GeForce 6600gt) and it works fine.
