Hi and §welcome to the forum! Please read the Netiquette (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/announcement.php?f=209&announcementid=55) and feel free to post something about yourself into the WELCOMEthread for ALL Gothicfans #3 (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=93876).

Please try to explain your problem a little more detailed, when this problem comes up (while loading, right at the start of the game?).
What system (exactly) do you have, what drivers?
Can you make screenshots of the error?
Other games run on your PC?

Perhaps it is a problem related to an 64bit-OS. Does Gothic run on 64bit? Has anyone tried this before?

Have you installed the latest patch?

I´ll try to install it, but this need some time.
The patch for the game you could try are this:

Gothic II - Patch v1.30 (http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/index.php?go=downloads&release_id=66)

Or maybe give this a try (but i think it not solves the prob, but anyway, it´s just a little try):

Gothic II Vdfs - Patch (http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/index.php?go=downloads&release_id=104)

Well before you go and buy a new copy why don't we try something else no?

You still didn't said to much about your system. What drivers do you have installed, directx version, you should read this before --> click (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=92547).

Besides that you should try what werner said with the patches.

Have you had a look in here (http://www.worldofgothic.com/?go=download&catid=10)? The World of Gothic forums should have all patches on offer for download.

I don't know if there is a basic problem with Gothic and 64bit- systems like yours. Perhaps you should try and contact our member and former Piranha Bytes developer NicoDE (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/member.php?u=14257). He might be able to help you with that or at least can you refer to another address.

Edit: Anyone here who uses a genuine 64bit system (WindowsXP x64) and has no problems running Gothic whatsoever?

Ok then....

One posible solution could be :
Turn off all antivirus and firewalls, spyware, etc. Imo you should uninstall all of these so you can be sure. After this try again.

Hi! I think we have a little to do now... :)
I have tested it, Gothic 2 works just fine with my Win x64 (trial sp1, plain install),.. it also worked with all i can get through windows-auto-updater.
I guess you have a problem which is not related to the game,...
Do you have other games running well?
