tNotR: The Claw of Beliar

When I found the CLAW OF BELIAR (when I killed Raven) I couldn't equipt it, it hurted me, but than Saturus told me that I need the help of Beliar to use the sword!!! He sayd that I need to find his shrines to upgraid the sword. I found one but the sword is realy weak. Does anyone know what to do to upgraid THE CLAW eaven further:)

After leveling up go and pray the beliar shrine again.

I always opted to give Beliar's Claw to Saturas instead. I wasn't willing to sacrifice permanent hit points for that cursed weapon.

This decision was particularly easy as a mage, since I considered every rune of Beliar's a complete waste of my resources.

Me too. 2000 xp worth more than - xx life and some magic damage... But when i used the claw, i always inserted some permanent life potions when i went to the shrine...§burn Marvin foreva!

the claw is pretty cool when u first get it...but it gets obsolete pretty soon....
and as for use in the later chapters forget about it...
claw damage at lvl 37 is 114 + 40% chance of extra 100 damage
so in 5 hits u get 5x114+2x100 dmg=770dmg
with the dragon slicer 4 example u would get 5x190=950 dmg...about 20% more raw damage

as a mage though the runes might be worth it...

huh no! The Claw of Beliar is ab exelent weapon if you know how to use it. Plus its great to have an artifact of Innos and Beliar in your possesion.

imo the only benefit of the claw is that the extra damage is inflicted even when the enemy block and it deals the full 100dmg without taking into consideration the enemy's protection values...but from my experience u still kill enemies quicker with a "normal" weapon with greater damage

Even though it requires an insane strength of 170...

the berseker's axe may be the best weapon damage wise(notr only)...but it's range sucks..even 1h have better range than this...and i don't like the design of this axe at all :)

I need to ask ,about beliar’s claw since it’s the topic here ,how can carry the claw of beliar tow handedly ??,sine I can only use it one handedly soo if some one could help me ?it :confused:

Pray at a shrine of Beliar and upgrade the claw or something.
Unless you're a mage because then you'll get a rune of beliar instead.

the claw is 1h or 2h depending on ur skill
e.g if u have 11% 1h and 10% 2h it will be 1h; if u have 54% 1h and 55% 2h it will be 2h

what i would like to know is what will it be if ur skill is the same in both weapons?

@banzino_gothic: here is an excerpt from the source Dez mentioned earlier in this thread (did you read it at all?). It should answer your question.

The claw can be either an one-handed or a two-handed weapon. What the claw is going to be depends on the talent that you control better. You can change the kind of the weapon after every improvement, if you've changed your one-hand or two-hand talent in the meantime. But this is no longer possible if you've gained the maximum level. There is no minimum strength so everyone can wear beliar's claw.

Next time at the shrine you can change the weapons character.

ok...to clear all of this up...
when u first activate it it will be like was said before 1h or 2h depending on ur skill...
when u go to further improve it, it could change from 1h to 2h (or the other way around)

e.g activation: 1h 11% 2h 10% >claw 1h
first upgrade: 1h 11% 2h 12% > claw 2h
second upgrade 1h 13% 2h 12% >claw 1h
third upgrade 1h 60% 2h 30% >claw 1h
and so on
