i killed the black troll in G2 when i was lvl 6 with a 25 dmg sword :baetsch: it took me 2 or 3 minutes cuz he was a tough bastard §danke
the trick is not to charge the beast (duh)... u have to climb a little on the left side of the troll cave, and there is a thin and tall rock... when the troll attaks just hide a little behind that rock and the troll will cum near u but it wont punch u...(near enough to hit him with a sword)
of course, at 25 dmg, not allti hits will hurt him §wall sso i may take a while...

lol i heard this one before... and many other tactics :D on how to kill the troll at level 1 :D
yyyeah... but i didn't wanted to get there by marvin-mode :D
I killed the black troll when I was level 7 and a damage of 40. Just hit him from behind and when he turned I simply walk around him and I was at his back again and so on...
Yeah - that beast was tough when I first got there. I still hold it in higher regard than the dragons. The dragons were wormsmeat the moment I set eyes on them, but the Black Troll was a much more formidable opponent. Well, I was weak... ;)

Once I tryed to shoot this bastard! :p (Didn`t work!)
But usualy it was a hard fight to kill him, because only last time I played I used "Shrink Monster" spell! :p And then I thought to myself - dhaaa! It was so easy!:eek:
u can kill him whit lvl 1 like this:
get on those rocks and when he comes u just hit him until he dies (he cant hit u)

For me it is imposible to be lvl 1 when I meet the Black Troll. Because when I enter Khorines am lvl 3.:D
Wow and that Black Troll has 4 teeth and a normal Troll has only 2.

It took me half an hour to kill the giant bastard.
I was a lvl 6, guild: Fire Mage, when I killed the thing at my lowest level.
I used a Wolf Tooth

If you are a hunter the black troll is a gold mine, bosper will pay you big money to get the black troll skin, but if you wan't to get eaven more go to raul give him the skin (he gives you money + 4 potions) than beat him up and take the skin back than sell it to bosper :D

It would be simpler if you summmon creaturs. I killed him with 8 goblin scheletons.

I once killed the Black Troll with a 15damage sword(rusty sword):cool:
and I was a rokkie fighter can you imagine how much time it took me?;)

Try it when you feel that you can confront him go and kill him :)

He hited the Black Troll 4 times and then the troll hit him and trowed him in the nearby lack. Then the guy didn't quit and he swimed out of the lack and then atacked it again, and so-on until the smartest give up(the black troll).:)

I know that:D . But I was talking about someone who decided to confront the Black Troll when he wasn't ready yet, in open battle too.
I attacked the black troll in CHAPTER 5 as a dragon hunter, I had the dragonslayer and the heavy dragon hunters armour and I killd it in 1 minute I also used the dragon bow.

if u summon skeleton goblins they will hit and hit and hit and the black troll can't hit back it's only the mater of time

By hitting, running, hitting, running....(watch out for those damn snapers). Then you will find a place where to safely jump(and make sure you won't end in the lake with him) and he will be down there sitting like a little fish.

in NOTR he CAN go out of his cave :)

I was giving an example. I know that he can't be killed with arrows but i didn't thinked about it when i said that example ;) I meant to say long-rage damage or something like that.

Well i don't know for sure but i remember that he could in g2 too. But i do recall some times when he was stuck in there :)

And that's the best and the most easiest way to kill him. It's a good way and a safe one too ;)

BTW When the troll falls into the lake he dies?

Insert him with Marvin?
Maybe summon a demon with a summonning rune. Cheating is always the last option. Marvin is a crook :D

If you want a peace of true gothic action be prepared, the black troll is a realy hard thing to defeat without magic or summoning.

i never used marvin mod and i was kid'n about the demon lord thing

I used marvin only in the first three times I played gothic 2, you miss all the fun stuf if you are imortal or you edit your abilies to the max, I is just not fun with marvin:o

but the bad part at swiching characters is that if u get to far from the hero, the hero dissapeares.
i once tried to fenish the game with Xardas :D but... neahhh

Nice thread i must say...i dont actually remember how i killed the black troll first time i played troll (maybe i didnt even kill him :D)but enyway the easyest way to kill a black troll is to summon a few skeletons and just tell them "gett him boys!"

there are lots of ways of slaying him... the easiest is to hit him always from his back cause he turns slow...
