Now that's new:
Some days ago,I double clicked my NotR shortcut to play the game...
and it doesnt start!No error messages,no lags,no intro screen,no nothing!

I tried playing Gothic 1 after some days later,and it has the same problem too!

I opened the task manager,and found Gothic2.exe and gothic.exe,individiually,but they just won't start!Both of them!(Not at the same time,of course :P)

I tried setting their priority to High,but the problem remains...

And here's the weirdest part:

After giving up on trying to start Notr,(i double clicked it and nothing happened,as usual)I opened my internet browser,and loaded a video of my favourite show...
and,VIOLA: Gothic Notr started!:D

I noticed that in order to work both Gothics,I have to open a video (Veoh specifically) and wait for it to load a bit,and Both Gothics start!(not at the same time,again...each one individiually)

I don't want to do this every time I want to play Gothic!It's really annoying!

Any idea how to fix this?!

Thanks in advance guys! §wink:gratz

Do you have a Windows 7 installed? If yes, this info from the Russian forums may be useful:

It happens that on Windows 7 game loads in RAM, but thus isn't launched (process hangs in RAM). Try to apply a following trick (thanks to electriq from rutracker.org forum):
If on Windows 7 Gothic (or Gothic II) won't start, you can do:
- launch a game twice;
- open the task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc);
- kill rundll32 process together with which first Gothic process is killed automatically (but the second process remains);
- play Gothic game with a joyful shouts.:D

XP? So what f***ing hell you're don't give us info about your hard and soft, eh?§burn Go with Beliar and publish at least DXDiag report and info about game versions + installed patches (official and community, if you've them).

Again, there's a process that's blocking it from running.
Good luck finding out which, though.

Ok,first of all,be more polite...
Second,i don't think my hard/software has to do anything with that...
It worked just fine,until that happened...
No change in software and/or hardware...

That's why it's so weird...

What are your system specs?There could be something there that may be causing your problem.

Irrelevant, afaik.
Its simply like I already said in a post above, a process is blocking your game.
Open task manager and start killing non-vital processes.
Eventually you'll find which one was blocking it.

Oh boy... you seems to be so lost in that windows world...

Back-up your precious personal files from drive C. Format drive C. Reinstall windows and all the drivers you need. Install only software you know/is necessary/you trust. Install Gothic games. Enjoy.

Pay more attention when you install something. Try to understand what that software does. No one will help you better than you could.
