Can't save in patch 1.74!!!

Hi, to all! I got a bit of a problem I've updated Gothic 3 to patch 1.74 and it doesn't save games, I've tried the F5 for it and in the menu to save it doesn't work. First time I played it worked, stop playing the game for a few days and when I tried again it doesn't it, even erased the old saves. I reinstalled the game with the patch(1.74 alone with game) in administrator privileges of win 7 everything seems to work plays fine, but the saves. I've looked for an answer haven't found one yet. Just in case I got an ASUS laptop with a AMD Phenom2 3 cores 2.1 G, 4GB of ram, ATI Mobility HD 5470 VRAM 1GB, and a 4x blue ray drive oh Win 7 HP. thank you in advance to anyone with help tips.§cry

You reinstalled with admin rights, but did you tried to run gothic3.exe with admin-rights?

Yes I did, right clicked the shortcut to play the game other than the improved look can't save reinstalled it again and it doesn't work don't know whats wrong defragmented the drive disk, cleanup I've done everything I can think of! anyway thanks. If you think of anything else please let me know. Thanks again!!:D ahhh question, do you mean the execute in the x86 file in the programs file? just thought of that I'll try let you know thanks again!!!!!

Yep doesn't work even tried installing without the admin thingy don't work I'll keep trying if you guys know of anything I haven't tried just tell me please!!!!§cry§cry§cry

1. Check up for presence of folder, in which Gothic 3 stores saved games, and files containing in it: C:\Users\<Your_name>\Documents\Gothic3.
2. Verify your access rights to this folder and these files. By default you must have a full access rights to your own profile.

Thanks for the idea, but that is working fine, I can see the folder for G3 & the saved games, but it doesn't show on the game. I've tried F5, F9, save and load through the save menu, and load menu doesn't work from the game. Thanks!!!:(§cry§burn

I tried patching older patches 112, 1.6, 1.73,1.74 which are the ones that I have it works till patch 1.6, 1.73and 1.74 won't save from the game in both instances I have saves on my documents for Gothic 3. Don't know what else to do!!!

You could try to install it on another partition, run it via comatible modes, ... with the VM (winXP) running.

Dunno, but it works for everyone, never heard of such a problem.

OK, this may be obvious but when you installed 1.7x did you select AB? If so, you're previous saves won't show.
When you updated to 1.7x, did you start a new game and then try to save?

Running G3 on WinXP on a virtual machine probably isn't a feasible solution because it probably won't allow direct access to the graphics card. This might even prevent the game from rendering the main menu.
