crash on start - shaders

I can run the config just fine, I start the game and the Headup Games cinematic runs just fine. Then an error pops up:

ERROR: Failed to load 'shaders\FixedFunctionShaders.ShadeLib'.
Engine will not run.


Once I hit OK on this the game closes and another error pops up:

Runtime Error!
Program c:\program files\st...
R6025
- pure virtual function call



I've tried fiddling with the config settings and nothing has fixed this. Help!
