Hello!
Unfortunately, my English is not the best, but I try it, nevertheless.

Gothic 3 – Content Mod v2.2

This modification enlarges Gothic 3 in special areas.
In the main new items and little balancing-changes were reinserted.
The aim of the mod is, to enlarge the game-experience and to make the game more like its predecessors.

General

- The Content Mod is a modification for Gothic 3.
- You can’t play the mod without Community-Patch 1.74 and the Questpacket 4.2.
- It doesn’t give a guarantee for a faultless modification.

The installation happens of at your own risk. We won’t take over adhesion. for potential problems after the installation.

It doesn’t give a guarantee for Bug-Liberty.

The compatibility

The Content Mod …
… is just compatible with the main-game Gothic 3
… is not compatible with the Gothic 3 Addon „Forsaken Gods“
… is compatible with the Community-Patch 1.74
… can’t be played without the Questpacket 4.2
… has been adjusted on the Alternative Balancing from Community-Patch 1.70
… is just compatible with texture-modifications

The installation

Installation order:

Gothic3
CP1.74
QP4.2
CM2.2

You can install the modification with this Installer. You must accept the licence-regulation.
The Installer normally searches the installationfolder automatic. The installtionfolder must be the Gothic 3 folder. It will check, if the Questpacket is installed.


A new game must be started if ….
… the CM is installed at the first time.
… a older version of the CM was updated, because it could come to problems
… the CM was uninstalled

You can install separate mods with the Installer, for example, when you just want to install the textures or sounds from the CM..

Please look, that you have min. 230 MB on your hard disk.

If you want to install other contents additional , than you must uninstall the modifications and then reinstall with the Installer.

The uninstalling

You can uninstall the CM with the „Uninstall_CM_2.2.exe“.
This data is in the „Gothic 3“ file.

When you have install the game „without QP quests“ and want to play with the QP 4.2 now, than you must uninstall the CM2.2 and then reinstall with the contents you want.
The condition of the QP will restore, if you uninstall the CM 2.2.

When the Content Mod 2.2 will uninstall, you must start a new game, cause big problems can happen.

There are pictures of the new textures in with installed folder "CM2.2_Bilder" which can be
extinguished after the installation again.
The folder is in the Gothic 3 installation directory.
Should you not like the textures, you can uninstall them any time again.
In addition the CM2.2 uninstall and afterwards install over again, with the well-chosen additional installations.

"Citizen" (Made By ZixZax)

These Mod puts the status of the citizens Myrtanas (i.e. fishermen, hunters, landlords, alchemists, traders) in the cities from "Orc follower" on "Neutrally".
Therefore none of these NPC's fights more for the Orcs if it comes to a revolution.

"Consequences v1.2" (Made By ZixZax) (only with QP Quests!!!)

More consequences are inserted for single Quests. Thus one can get for certain Quests now the access to a castle kept, a clod of gold pay, or just by another NPC are appealed to the incident. However, this should serve, above all, the atmosphere. In addition, all amulets, rings and ruffians from the chests were removed. Now also the undead in Gotha are stronger. These Mod can be installed only with CM and be uninstalled. The subtitles must be activated, because these Mod no voice output owns!!!

"G2 Orcs"

This modification adds to the play a new Orc kind which is known from Gothic 2.
Besides, the Orcs are changed in Nordmar and with Vengard.
"Mountains-Orcs" are completely new textured and give a nice nostalgic feeling with the play.
In addition, the appearance this Orcs is explained by two anew provided documents.

"3 Bars" (Made By WernerTWC)

By this modification one receives in the HUD, according to select, a compass or not. In addition,
the life, Mana and perseverance announcement are reduced.

"New Font" (Made By |Lorn|)

The Gothic 3 font is substituted with a little more curved version.
A picture of the font is in with installed folder "CM2.2_Bilder".
If You do not like the font, you can exchange it easily again.
In addition adjust the file in with installed folder "Backup Font" in the Gothic 3 folder and headline the old Gothic3.ttf file. The folder is in the Gothic 3 directory.
Should there be some problems with the representation of the fonts, simply delete the connection to Gothic 3 font from the folder "C: \Windows\Fonts". Then everything should as function again as planned. If you install now still the alternative font of Gothic 3 (simply the Windows folder open and pull the Gothic 3 alternative font in the folder Fonts), then it is also shown in God's Dusk perfectly and wonderfully.

"New Menu"
A quite simply held menu which reminds very strongly of Gothic 1.
If You do not like the menu, you can exchange it easily again.
In addition extinguish the file "gui.m01" in "Gothic3\Data" folder.

"Old Monster Sounds" (Made By xalitus)

The monster noises from Gothic 2.
Simply contributes to the mood. If You do not like the sounds, you can exchange them easily again. In addition extinguish the file "Sound.mod" in "Gothic3\Data" folder.

"Content Mod 2.2 without QP Quests"

By many inquiries of the users in the forum, I have resolved to add this option. I have got from Humanforce the permission,
that to modify QP in this regard. The "Consequences" Mod is not compatible with this installation!!
Only the texture and font modification will function.
The state of the QP's is produced with the uninstall of the CM2.2 again completely.
Now the Content Mod can be played without additional Quests.
All objects of the QP's are still included in the play.
There is no guarantee for bug freedom, because CM, actually, the complete QP needs.

this surely asks for a g3 re-install ! i haven`t played it for 2 years now ,i didnt even try the latest community patch ! now i`ll try them all :D

Thank you! I'll be sure to try it out soon. Looks like Arcania will most certainly be utter crap and i'll need something to kill time in the near future while waiting for Fallout: New Vegas and Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga. Since i've not tried translated questpack 4.1 yet either, i should be in for a modded Gothic 3 ride!

For the english content mod, the german quests and dialogs from the quest package are removed (with the CM), ... there is still many content left from the questpackage.

sorry but i don`t get it well. So i wanna play with CP 1.74 and CM2 but in english . I don`t really care too much for the new quests and stuff .

Wait, I'm not sure what you mean. I would play QP4.1 with the QP4.1 eng sub addition. Do you mean that CM2 would remove part of it?

OK, sorry for being unclear. I think you said that CM2 will remove some german parts of QP4.1. Is that so? Or have I misunderstood you? The point is that with the english add-on part for subtitles, that shouldn't be necessary.

Yes, that is so.

I don't think that the english beta-quest-package-stringtable is included in the english CM, so that would lead to missing item descriptions and such.

Try to ask that question in the russian WoG, ... there is not that much of text which would have to be translated (for the CM, ... the QP would have much more text).

Yes.

Was the english subtitles for qp4.1 only the additional lines? Or was it the whole stringtable?
If you find the english beta subtitles, gimme a link, please, cannot find it right now.

Here I made it littlepit easier to install QP4 update 1 with german voices and english subtitles, its for G3 1.74 version:

Anyway, ... the idea would be, if you already know how to implement stringtable changes to an existing stringtable, you could give it a try with the german version of the CM2.1:

That version keeps the quest package quests (by default selection in the installer), and it also should contain the english stringatable changes.

That would mean, ... install the game, cp1.74, german qp, german CM, then add the changes of the english quest-package stringtable to the one provided by the CM2.1 manually.
(That's why I asked only for the changed lines, not the whole changed stringtable).

To be up to date with the german g3- modding, you'd have to get used to german:

I know what you mean, but he PLAN to release it somewhere soon, ... there is no guarantee or an actual release date, ... so it can take 1 week or maybe some months, i guess like allways it will be "released when it's done."

Afaik, ... If necessary, the CM will get updated to the next QP, yes, so then you could play with the QP4.2 + CM.

I tried and it does not work.Where it should be the text from QP 4.1 it is blank space and also it is no sound...
I tried to add files from the English translation of QP 4.1 (except Projects_compiled) it appear sound(German) but there is still blank space where should be the new dialogue . :scared:
Maybe you have other suggestions guys . :dnuhr:

You haven't specified that only lines from Content Mod, and also from a "Consequences + WarTime" mod (created by ZixZax) were translated completely. In addition mod from ZixZax contains many spelling and syntactic errors, especially in English versions of lines that strongly slows down translation of texts to another languages (for example, I'm tried to translate it to Russian). Here is some examples (incomplete list):

damn notify me when the FULL thing will be playable (russian) prefered but english is ok if it is fully factional. btw what's going on with the CSP? they said they release it in september 2010 now we are in oktober or they abandoned the mod? CSP (community story project)

Can you upload updated file Strings.m00 too? I want to check for differences between this stringtable.ini and implemented into CM2.1.

You haven't specified that only lines from Content Mod, and also from a "Consequences + WarTime" mod (created by ZixZax) were translated completely. In addition mod from ZixZax contains many spelling and syntactic errors, especially in English versions of lines that strongly slows down translation of texts to another languages (for example, I'm tried to translate it to Russian). Here is some examples (incomplete list):

Should be, to test if the QP works, just start a new game and run directly down where Lester is, there are 2 other NPCs, one of them has new dialogs from the QP.

Gonna try that.

I don't know if this was meant by the CM mod, however I can't see the names of the people I look at anymore, or the name of items.

For example if I get next to a chest, I can't see "chest", I juste stare at it and can open it.

Its quite annoying because plants, items, etc...don't indicate you anymore if you can interact with them or not.

Is this intended ?

In the German Version there is a Mod called "Consequences". This Mod has no Voice sound. only subtitels. Do you have the German Version installed with this Mod?

I had the same problem with the Focus names in Forsaken Gods. A Restart of the PC was the solution.

Yes I think I installed the german version. (G3_Questpaket_4_Update1_Vollversion)

Then the CM2.1 mod (german version)

Then replaced the project_compiled file with the one provided in the link.

The subtitles without voices only occur with new quests I think, although Im not really sure I am just at the begginning of the game.

However the focus thing is really annoying. I am gonna reinstall all with the normal questpack see if it changes something.

Restarting the computer didnt solve the problem.

CM__2.1.exe is slightly updated, it's the newest version, while CM2.1.exe is "outdated".

Thanks, but Mordrak's clarification isn't necessary now since I have understood a differences between these three Content Mod 2.1 builds. As it was clarified that the difference in a resource sets in the Data folder depends on how CM has been installed: with QP quests or without them.

With the quest pack the NPC react on your armour and they will attack you, if you wear a armor from a hostile fraction. You can find out the status of the armour beside the icon in the menu. If there is a skull (for example a thief armour), you will be attacked by everyone. If there are 2 swords, you will only attacked by the hostile fraction. This will stop only, if the NPC is marked as a friend (green colour). You will reach that, if your authority is at 75 %.

Call me dense if you like but I read the whole thread and I still have a problem. Some of the names of items are not displayed. For instant, when I hover over Boar meat (I think because I got it off a boar corpse), it does not show the name only what eating it does. Similarly for some armour which I think is hunter's armour because the description shown says something about it being more to protect against nature than in combat.

What I did to install was:
Install G3.
Install CP 1.74.
Install (German) QP 4.1.
Install CM 2.1.

So basically, things are working except the missing names. Not all of the new names are missing (Rebel clothes, etc).

EDIT:
Okay, I think I have found the problem, for some reason the stringtable.ini in strings.m00 does not have an entry for Boar meat or Wildschweinkeule. Since it is the stringtable loaded last, the game does not display anything for certain strings.

EDIT 2:
I seem to have fixed it by downloading a strings.m00 linked to in a post in this thread, renaming it to strings.m01 and pasting in Gothic III/Data. Really, I must be having a bad day to be so stupid today, I'd probably fail an IQ test against the grinning gatekeeper in Silden.§wall

EDIT: It works perfectly with the .m00 file and Speech_English.mod file from Jiopi's mod as Tharr mentioned.

Don't worry, It isn't your own mistake. Sometimes due of navigation bugs NPC may slide under textures. I think that translation of Windmacht's post (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?p=10576080&#post10576080) can help to you:
Ordinarily he should be in the throne room.
If he should not be there, he has probably slided under the textures.
Enter sometimes goto Rhobar in the console, then you are teleported to him.
Everything all around the Marvin mode.
However, it would be best if you have one more score which is far enough away Vengard and is not Rhobar in the view range and sphere of action of the hero.
Or, however, you teleport yourself possibly far from Vengard, e.g., to Varant or to Nordmar.
Because it can be that Rhobar is also killed under the textures by the barrier and you if you teleport yourself there.

Then you can go because over again anew to Rhobar and hope that he is not again under the textures because then all NPCs are anew placed in Vengard.
At the further gameplay don't forget to make saves in the different slots periodically - it's will facilitate to you rollback in a case of various problems occurrence.

Tryed to play G3 with content mod 2.1 like it very much, dislike abit no voices at some dialogs and missing name. But i can live with that :)

Now I'm even more confused. The RC version has English texts, but it's not compatible with newest CP (1.74)? At least that's what I understood from Google Translating the German text :D I just want to know if there is a way to play G3 now with all the mods (CP, CM, QP) in English or if I should wait and play only with CP for now.

e: Oh, I get it now. CM 2.1 is not compatible with 1.74, but you posted a link to the hotfix. I'll just install CP1.74 + QP4U1 + hotfix + CM2.1 + English translation

If you want to play with the new quests from the QP, then you should start a new game, if you don't want to play with the new quests, you can keep on playing, because the new CM is only needed if you wanna play the (whole) QP with it.

Afaik, they still disappear from Ardea when you travel far away enough.

Another one is in a cave near Silden on the way from Okara.
In Nordmar are two on the way to the fireclan behind the bushes on the left side after the ice tunnel. On the right side are a few Goblins and a orc camp.

I found a bug when forging crawler plate armour. If you have the leather vest equipped while forging the armour, the armour is created and you still retain the leather vest, even though it should have been 'used up'.

The leather breast tank is a leather armour which:
gives you the silent hunter perk while you wear it. I purchased it in Silden from Givess or whatever the mill keeper is called(I think)

Just a silly question, but are there any incompatabilities between savegames from CM2.1/QP4.1 and CM2.2/QP4.2?
Not a silly question. I would everyone recommend to start a new game.

"On your own risk" you could try it. One test i would do in that case is that idkfa cheat, which gives you every object. Then open your inventar, save (seperate, new savegame) the game, end it, start new, load the game open the inventar again. -> No Guru, then you could risk it.

The english CM2.2 is ready, must only be included in the download section. I think it's comes before the english QP4.2.

Today I downloaded and installed Content Mod 2.2 (German edition). Like QuestPaket 4.2 this mod also contains full translation of subtitles to EFIGS languages. Therefore, you may install German editions of QP 4.2 and CM 2.2, select English subtitles and play without problems.:cool:

Update:
Detail stringtable.ini analysis shows that some CM 2.2 strings presents for German and English languages only. :(

There is *never* enough.
And it also doesn't make sense that suddenly, some pre-existing armours (G1/G2/NotR) suddenly don't exist anymore.
High Robe of Fire, for example.
G1: Corristo wears one.
G2/NotR: Pyrokar, Serpentes, Talamon, Ulthar wear one.
G3: Karrypto, the highest mage of fire in the realm, doesn't wear one, but lower-ranked mages do wear one in previous games.

No, that's not the problem. I'm playing G3 with the German QP 4.2 and it does have English subtitles (even for the added stuff). Maybe a complete DEFIS release is being aimed at.

Content Mod 2.2 international edition (CM2.2_INT.exe) installer have a minor bug - after CM 2.2 installation it creates two different uninstall entries: ContentMod2.0 and ContentMod2.2 (both entries refers to the file Uninstall_CM_2.2.exe). German edition (CM2.2_DE.exe) doesn't have this bug because it creates one uninstall entry ContentMod2.2.

So can I just confirm what previous posts seem to say please. By default does the following currently available downloads give a full English game (with subtitles only on new QP content).

CP 1.74 + QP 4.2 (all default options with german language install) + CM 2.2

The only extra configuration needed is if you want German voices with the new content as well.

Tried it - it's great. Though, I'm not quite sure how to properly use the dragon druid stone. I mean, the dragon is quite bulky and not really efficient in battle.

Which is the default language you've installed?

Anyway, you've to edit "ge3.ini" and "UserOptions.ini". The strings that you've to change into the "UserOptions.ini" (in "Documents" folder) are:


VoiceLanguage=German
SubtitleLanguage=English

...for the "ge3.ini":

If the default dubbing language is setted on "English", you've to edit "mountlist.ini" (it is located into *.ini folder) file also, as below:

If you want to see original Gothic 3 textures, try to reinstall QP without renewed textures of Myrtana or simply delete file Data\_compiledImage.p01 (date 10.10.2010, time 15:32:04, size 178378603 bytes).

This armors is awesome! :P.I registered for them :P.But i got a question, can you give some sort of a package with only armors,clothes,weapons,shields,orcs textures and that kinda of stuff(textures)(but maybe without world changin textures like stones or something) that doesn't change quests and dialog lines.I please for that because i am from poland and i got polish version of gothic and in my country the only mod translated is QuestPack 4.2.So this mod never can be compatible with my gothic and even if it was i am not very good at english and german.(Someday maybe i will be but i have 15 years so i'm not so patient to wait.And i really want to have these armors in my game.That would be fantastic because i love when i have a lot of armors to choose


In shortcut:can you give some sort of a package with only armors,clothes,weapons,shields,orcs textures? That is my dream. :)

This is some offtop so i gonna tell that this mod is awesome Rate 5

Btw when i instal the CM with CM mod ticked(i tried manyways) i have no font.

Ok so now for real.Situation is like that.To have textures i must install CM mod.
But i can't install it becuase i lose all subtitles even those from menu.They just all dissapear and this not fault of changing the font or something in useroption or ge3.ini i checked that.It maybe because i have a polish version of the game(because im from poland :)).
So i extracted gothic.exe to a folder named CM and there i extracted some of the files i want to have ingame(specifically textures and CM mod for QP without Consequences).And i have there only data folder.Now my question is that could someone say what files it's from textures?.Cos i know compiled image but maybe some other too?.I just don't want to screw up because i know one or maybe more of the files screw up my subtitles :mad:

I'm very strongly doubt in existence of the Polish subtitles for QP 4.2 and CM 2.2. By the current moment there are subtitles for English, French, Italian, German and Spanish (EFIGS) languages. Also there is a Russian version of subtitles. Therefore you should make changes in ini files to switch subtitles to English language. Certainly that thus there will be no Polish speeches.

Yeah i have to do that but for now i want to have all the armors and weapons from that mod and i now i can do that without installing it,but by extracting some files from the mod.My only problem is i don't know at all what files to copy.

Ok so after few try's a know that the only file responsible for dissapearing all game subtitles is Strings


Someone knows the cheats for all new added weapons and armors from the mod CM??.Because i can't find them by writing Cat_Armor and i know they're in game.

Edit:Codes for armors don't work for me
And for the first time when playing with QP 4.2 and CP 1.74 where the guru bug happened :P.I just heard of it i never had it even in my early days when there was no CP patch.And when i writed cheat for recipe from an armor from CM 2.2 and it spawned i go to the menu with recipes moved my mouse on to it...and the game turned off without no messages.

I suppose you tried spawn <armour_name> or give <armour_name>. For some reason it fails to work even for the old armour. 'spawn' will just create a paper wrapped parcel which gives you nothing if you take it and 'give' just does nothing. Maybe it's a problem with CP1.74 or maybe it is with QP4.2, I can't say for sure.

I play Gothic 3 with CM 2.1. In Cape Dun i find after i loot one of gladiator`s body a note in wich is said about some pirates that got a blueprint for a knight`s armor. Where can i find that blueprint? And also in thread Mordrak said about a pirate island that is connected to the knight`s armor blueprint. So how can i find that blueprint?:D
And one more thing, on a island i found a Proud Pirate and another one called Jack, and in the nearby hut i found a chest with the recipe for Embarla Firgasto in it. And i need 8 dragon eggs for the potion, but i got only 4(2 for each dragon near Cape Dun). Where can i find more dragons?

If CM didn't add more dragons, you can find one in Varant (north of Al Shedim) and one near Geldern (NW of the sulfur mine).

The way to the dragon near Geldern is not easy. There is a place to get up the hill behind the sulfur mine by constant hopping.

The blue print for the knight armour you will find
in Montera in the inventory of Thorek's slave by pickpocket or beat him
A hint you will get by pickpocket of a tradelist from Basir
There is a similar blueprint you can buy from Thorek

He knows something, that's for sure, because you can find YOUR dragon hunter armor(!!!) from G2 in the inventory of a dead pirate somewhere near Bakaresh.

Actually the way to the dragon near Geldern isn`t so hard, u just have to pay attention, i never saw those ruins and that hill:D Thx a lot again, and btw, it was very worth killing that dragon, lot of chests with valuables things + 3 a king sorrel + 3 dragon roots:D

Near Bakaresh there are some island, from south to north, a medium one, a large one, and 2 small ones. Search the all of them i recommend u, cuz u`ll find very interesting items, and the dragon hunter`s armor is in the large island, on a body of a dead pirate. Be careful, there are skeletons and an undead high priest near the dead pirate. Good luck!

As I said somewhere here already, Orc Armor model was pretty much one of the greatest disappointments for me in Gothic 3.

So here's my question: could anyone post a link to this new Orc Armor model (as I could read in CM 2.2 description page) please? And if you're not at that step of the game, could you cheat-spawn it and make screenshot?

The reason I'm asking for this, is that at the moment I cannot play the game myself, as my machine undergoes a tech improvement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

No, you couldn't check the Questpaket 4 manual or thread because retextured mountain orcs presents in "G2 Orcs" mod only (a part of Content Mod 2.x). For example, you can see a mountain orc warrior on the screenshot taken from the gallery in CM2.2_Bilder folder:

He asks for ORK ARMOUR not the mountain ork.
And the ORK ARMOUR (Orkrüstung) *is* added with one of the Quest Packs, it it listed in the Quest Paket 4.2 Handbuch.
Just no image of it.

Are your sure that kojocel meant Orc armour for Hero (gift from Kan)? But in QP 4.x resources absent item Body_Merc_Orcish_QP (as described in manual) and present a bit modified item Body_Merc_Orcish (added 280 STR to wear requirement and hostile reaction from rebels and nordmarians).

Uses the same model as the Dragon Hunter's Armour and the General's Armour (different texture, ofcourse).

Yup, that is the exact item I'm looking for. As you may remember, in unmodded version of Gothic 3, that armor had the same model as Paladin armor, and apart from the fact that lorewise (I think so at least) Orc armor should never look like a Paladin one, it was only a recolored model, which disappointed me so much, I can't find words to describe it.

I've found a lots of bugs in the Content Mod v2.2:

1. Armament of a general (Body_KingGuardGD_Hero) have an inventory icon without 2 swords (which should indicate as a fraction armor). To fix this bug we should unpack a template Templates.m00\NPC\__Master_Humans\HumanBodyParts_Body_Body_KingGuardGD_Hero.tple and with G3 Template Editor change value of parameter gCItem_PS.Texture from IT_Armor_RoyalGuard.tga to IT_Armor_RoyalGuard_rtw.tga.

2. When the quest "Demon in Mora Sul" has been activated, we can see an empty subtitle window instead of Ilja's scream: "The demon is here!" due of minor bug in the script Infos.m01\G3_World_01\LeeL00476_info_G3_World_01.info:

Hi, Mordrak!

It's me again with another bug report. In the latest CM v2.2 build you are fixed bug with the empty subtitle window of Ilja's scream for the Consequences mod only (Projects_compiled.m01), but forgot to recompile infoscripts for the Citizen + Consequences mods (Projects_compiled.m02).
