Gothic 2 Weird Save Game Problem

I know at one time there was someone here that used to work for the Gothic 2 team. I believe his name was Nico....hoping to find him. Anyway, I recently bought Gothic 2 and can't believe I missed out on such a great game! I have played it constantly but have been using the same save slot the entire time. THe last time I tried to load my game, the picture of the save game just showed a white box. I went into the save game directory and all the files are still there but something must be wrong. I don't get any kind of error message but when I try to load the save it just flickers for a second and dumps me back to the list of saved games screen. Anyone encounter this?

You cannot use that slot anylonger.You have to start the game all over again.TThis thing happened to me as well...

hmmm... this didnt happend to me at gothic... amybe at others games, u should restart the game :( and try to save on more save slots... i usually use about 5 save slots when playing gothic.. i'd like to know too How far were u with the game? :(

Yeah, as they said it before, no chance to get corrupt save-game working.
That is a problem which many people had (me icluded). Since then i always use more slots.

It happened to me a lot of times at G2,hmm,use more save games,i use 10 save games,4 to mark the important events such as,the movie when Raven enters Adanos Temple,or something like that.Use 6 save games so i doesnt happen any more

The one is NicoDE, u can find him in the German Editing forum^^.

I searched a little bit in the German g2 help. They don't know a few to fix that. Reason could be that u saved during u used the marvin mode or installed a new game version.

Thank you for all of the responses guys. I was surprised how fast you responded abouta 3 year old game :p I guess I am frustrated since it said I was on day 8....not sure what that means. I slept more than 8 times to wake up the next morning. Not sure how time works in the game.

Time here works like this:
1 min = 1 sec;
if U sleep till: morning 08:00 am;
midday 12:00 pm;
evening 07:00 pm;
midnight 12:00 am.
;) I U slept till morning from midday then U`ll wake up in next morning. :p

P.S. We lowe Gothic and remember many thigs ;) so ask whatever is needed! :) and §welcome to the forum post something in Welcome thread! :D
