Melee or Ranged,Strength or Dexterity...

Melee or Ranged?Strength or Dexterity?You tell me...:) I always put strength when i have learning points....but i also often stop to put a little at dexterity because its geting hard to transfer another guys money into my pockets these days and because my lockpicks geting broke like a stick :).I use one-handed weapons..never two-handed...theyre too ponderous...to heavy...Let me hear your opinion...Maybe someday ill start with two-handed weapons and bows...who knwos:)

Well,I guess I like Range and Dexterity,because it's safer.Ex:If you come across a Shadowbeast and you don't have a good sword.If you have much dex and Range you can kill it before it touches you!

Yes ranged is good....if u have a good crossbow...with bows u dont do so much dmg....But if you hit a shadowbeast and you take half his life and he runs at you when you prepare to shoot the next arrow....youll die..:)....not in case you have a good armor and a lot at dexterity and crossbow skill

I use Strenght and Melee.And Faby what's that about a Shadowbeast?It's quite easy to kill them with melee weapons evin in the addon!

I use strength and melee also. Not because its better, but because unlike Dex and ranged its actually fun :P

I like using melee weapons, and I always train strength more, than dexterity, but I use bow/xbow quite often too.

I never used a bow....dont know why...they do too little dmg....crossbows are better :P....im a one hander and a crossbow guy :P....

in gothic 2 i am a 2-hand pala and a 2-hand roge but i completet the game whid a fire mage but genaral i like the 2-hand you can cep you fous away from you and the bow/cros brow i dont use unles i am standing where the agro cant totch me like elevatet places :D but in gothic i dont know beaus i cand find it whid englich spech and i cant understand germen eny of you know where i can get it??????

well... i improve my strengh more than my dexterity... usually my strengh is +10 or + 20 bigger
about the weapons i like evereything except crossbows... i usually start gothic(dont matter which one) with one-handed weapons... after some chapters i use two-handed too, i like both tipes, each has its advantage(one handed are faster, two handed do more damage) about the ranged combat... sometimes i use bows(bows are my pasion id be soooo happy if i'd have a bow in reality :( ) i use crossbows too... omg i cant decide myself §gnah .. i like every kind of weapon... well if i have to decide than i chose one handed and bows :D

yeah, I always trainxbow with 2h and bow with 1h, think they just siut nice :D
but bow is very useful, it makes less damage, but it's more quicker

Well in Night of The Raven you need Str to wield a crossbow.So now I'm using melee one handed(65%) and crossbow(damage 90, str needed 75, skill 45%).This combination is VERY good!

Yep One-handed weapons and crossbows fit good,thats what i use all the time...i never use 2handers or bows.....dont know why....i think just because i like faster weapons.....:P

IMHO ranged weapons and dexterity are better, because you can attack your enemies even before they can reach you. ;) And if you have a good bow they are even dead before they can hit you. That's why I use bows more often than swords.

I only use 1h and 2h Swords. At begin of play i use 1h weapon, and in progress use 2h weapons, because 2HW are the most powerfull, and i like how they look.
Never use learn points on increasing dexterity.

Example: A paladin with a 2h weapon, is a really Warrior

Not quite.A Paladin with 2HW and without Magic is not a Paladin at all!

I'm a classical ranger type, so longbow and one-handed sword is my choise..:). Sadly there weren't any nice looking hunter armors(the leather one ain't stylish imo).I wish i could have obtained that heavy rogue armor from gothic 1. It looks awesome.

I hope gothic3 offers more choise for armors and clothing.

Oh yeah,i would like to have nobility clothes and wander miself through town and show the greedy bastards how powerfull i am..:)
But i love also the clothes in the warehouse in Khorinis in Night of the Raven....theres a whole lot of clothes....i love to move through town and see how everyone is doing...:)and browse at goods of course like a rich bastard that i am :D :cool: ;)

I train my strenght more, because I want to use the melee weapons better, and my dexterity gets bigger when I'm at 70 strenght or sth like that usually dexterity is like 40 when strenght is 70.

In Gothic 2 I always am Fire Magician. I get much dex and mana. So I can handle a Master Sword and a Bow + Runes. :)

If about the topic then defenetly for me always first goes Strengh and onehanded sword fighting and only the dexterity and crosbow if I`m Mercenary or Paladin, but if I`m Firemage then first (befor joining monastery strengh) and then mana and alcemist knewlege (for strengh and dexterity and MANA :D )

I never trained mane when I was merk and pally, I trained it when I was mage, but only in the beginnig when it costs not so much points.

Melee Because I´ve always beed attracted by swords and all sort of melee weapons. Especially giant swords. such as Uruziel and Stormbringer.- §burn
