Ja, je nach Version sind solltest Du noch Patches installieren. Welche Du brauchst steht hier beschrieben: *klick* (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?p=12421524&#post12421524)

EDIT:
Are you playing with the english version? Then don't install the German Patches!
The english versionj is already patched to Version V1.3.x and V2.7.x respectively.

I have the Italian version of the game, I am Italian.

Listen Tazman, but can I finish before Gothic 2 and then install the expansion?:dnuhr:

What do you think?

Yes you can first play the G2 vanilla and the install the extension Night of the Raven.
The main story of both is the same, the extension adds a new world with a huge side-quest to G2 and also adds new quests to the worlds of Khorinis and the mine valey.

As for the patches: install Gothic2, start itand check the version in the lower right of the main menu screen. If it's a 1.3 (G2) or a 2.6 / 2.7 (G2-NotR) you don't need to install patches.

What Operating System do you have? If it's Vista or Win7 try to start G2 using the "run as Administrator..." command from the context menü of the desktop shortcut.

Do you have enough diskspace left?
Is the CD in the DVD player when you start G2?
Did you install any patches?
Did you already try to re-install the game?

Do you have Vista or Win7? Change in the Gothic.ini the setting scaleVideos=1 to scaleVideos=0. The file is located in the "System" folder of the G2 installation directory. In order to save the changes, move the file to the desktop, apply the changes, save the file and move it back into the system folder.

The videos will then be small, but better than no video at all.

Yes, there is a method. davied wrote a tool that converts all videos to a higher resolution. But this conversion takes hours (it took about 8 hours on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ ).

Here's the link to the tool: *klick* (http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_401.htm)

how this tool works, what does exactly?

TazmanDevil
05.04.2010, 20:51
It creates a backup of your exiting G2-Videos, re-scales them to your screen resolution and saves them on your harddisc. So you'ld have to run this tool once to convert all the videos on the machine where you want to run G2.

There is an English version of the tool?

TazmanDevil

You need to install the RAD video tools (http://radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm)

I didn't see an english version of the tool in the download section of WoG.com

Is right that path where to install it (C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\)?

Or should I change it in some subfolder?§wink

TazmanDevil

If you installed Gothic2 into C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II then it's the right folder.

the process lasted too long and also some errors occurred, so I decided to stop.

Now I have to uninstall and reinstall the game since the tool has modified some files?

Start Windows Explorer, open the _work\data\video folder in the gothic2 directory and post a screenshot of the folder contents. Most likely you don't need to re-install.

Looks good, all videos are still there, filesize is OK. You don't need to re-install the game.
