dual wielding best for melee?

Hello gothic fans,
I have the option now to become master in dual wield.
Or the option to spend my 110 LP on STR(i am 280 str already)
what would be the best option to make me the strongest in melee?

(spoiler)PS; the special armor for kan is not so special, he says I am the first human who get this. But the guy at mora sul arena the champion has the same armor :scared:

now,the fact that,in your game,Angar has the Orc armour(or whatever it's called)means that you ain't got the latest patch (1.70 or newer )...he should have a nomad armour

So you've got the best armour of the game,then you can choose any of those two options.Being a master over two blades lets you give more damage ,so it depends only what you like most....Anyways,I suggest master over 2 blades (my favourite combat style:D) but it's totally up to you

I think i become a master of dual wield after a all. The problem was that i needed to spend LP on hunting. well yea i well do it anyway, i was maybe hoping to wield the demon sword :P
So master of dual wield makes me do the most dmg?

I'm not sure but I think the Demon Sword is no longer available with the 1.7x patches (probably 'cause it was easy to get but very strong)

Master of dual wield makes you do more damage than the normal level of 2 sword fighting but I dunno if it's the most(depends on the blades)

god damn it.depends what monsters you are fighting agains....i take out trolls with two-handed swords.
the dual wield is the best for fast enemies and little ones,and i recommend two handed swords for the big ones...keeps them away from you.and in a fight two-handed sword vs. dual wield...the two-handed would win if u know how to play ;)
i liked the way the hero swings two swords....but i prefer the 2h sword...oh...and you need hunting points to learn dual wield....points you could use to boost up ure strength and do more damage with a 2h than with a dual....

How so? What does the two-hander have that the dual-wielder doesn't? The only way two-handers can break a block is with the overhead attack, and that's pitifully easy to dodge. Then the DWer can poke at the other guy and finish him off with a spin attack. Repeat until two-hander is dead. The advantage of two-handers lies in the hundreds of orcs swarming over you with their Krush Tarachs not even giving you a chance to hit anyone. (I seriously don't know what PB wanted originally, but with the new and better AI of CP 1.70+, I can't resort to a fair melee ever.) 1H+Shield might stand a better chance with a thrust and probably blocking the counterthrust, although the DWer can simply take a step to the left and still get his own thrust in. I say, if you ask if dual wielding is the best for 1-on-1 melee, I say yes.

as i was saying...depends on the player.and lol...when im surrounded i prefer to use the dual wield....
and i was referring strictly to the 2h sword....(coz the axe sucks at range and stuff)...
and i didn't say 2h are better than 2wield...just for different uses...
anyway...i just love walking around Nordmar with the D'oh! normarian armor and the ore two handed :gratz
ps:and the 2h "power strike"(when u keep the finger on left click) charges faster than the other weapons/styles...(except for the dual wield...which is useless without the "power strikes".
and another reason i like 2h swords better: it's harder to "master" the style...it's not just click-click-click

2H swords are great and sexy, but basicly why i love Gothic 3 so much is because of "dual sword wield" i mean it's my favorite style to fight in combat in any other games as well like prince of persia and etc. with dual wield you can fast stab fast attack and the biggest advantage of dual wield in CP 1.73 is that the spin strike hiting through a block which is even more amazing! in 1.72 with dual wield master i couldn't liberat hostile orc camps in nordmar when i surrounded, but now when i was surrounded i used the spin strike and hit alot of orcs at once even of they blocked. but 2H are fun i especialy love 2H swords in Gothic 1 and 2 and MapleStory. and in gothic 3 they are fun as well you just need a little practice.

I fought against the 2 temple guards in Bakaresh and I fought with bastard sword(sharpened) and (a worn)Paladin shield and and Rebel Armor, they used their spin attack a couple times but it didnt came through my block, I don't remember the fight so good, but I think mostly I made the attacks and splitted them apart and attacked 2 at once, they fell:D

maybe I didnt block at all but I thought so, maybe 2h or 2w is better, but thats worth trying in my next game.
If I read all this I think 2w is better, but what weapons may I use? every 1hx2?

Learning the "dual sword wield" skill is a must in Gothic 3 for me. That's the reason why someone must visit Isthar. To master that skill.

Learning that skill is really cool and you will have many advantages against your opponents. I don't really know about 2H weapons, because i don't like that fighting style. But 'dual sword' skill is by far better and more effective against multiple enemies than "Master swordsman" (even if they are trying to block your attacks). Even if your are surrounded by 10 or more with the right synchronization and the right movement you can kill 3-4 or maybe more of your enemies. When you are a master of Dual Wield, you are like a dancer who is sowing the death among his enemies.

You can duel wield any pair of 1H swords. I personally only like to use 2 1H swords that are alike, or a sword and a Hashishin dagger, for that sword dirk look.

Guys, did you read CP_Changelog_en.txt?

Only with AI switch turned on:
- Whirlwind attacks with two-handed weapons can now be blocked completely.
- A strong hit with two swords will break through a block.

For example, during fighting on arena in Mora Sul Angar used this hit and sometimes he broke my blocks and knocked me down (I'm played with 1H sword and shield).
