Hy :gratz,so as the name sugests,I buyed some time ago M2tw and heard rumors about an install erorr concerning disk 2 (mainly the data\sound\voice.dat file).Well it worked for me atleast.Anyway, after some time I reinstalled windows on my pc,reainstalled everything I had,and decided to do the same thing with m2tw.And what do you know, out of all the people,it had to be me .The game won't install and I always get this crc error message,I tried everything from trying a thousand times,to copying the files on my desktop and installing manually, switching the channel transfer mode to PIO (installation took ages),but still nothing §motz.
So..any advice on how to install this game (i didn't had these many problems instaling a game since fors...you know who.

PS: it won't be a problem playing the game ,because it installs the voice.dat file, but when I try to install patch 1.2 (so I can install patch 1.3 and then the kingdoms expansion) the dreadfull question is asked again (file missing, voice.dat, install aborted)§wall
offtopic-why do I get the feeling that this crc thingie is the reaincarnation of the dradful lguru wich I slew back then
Yes.
Cyclic Redundancy Check is from Satan himself.
The data on your medium has been corrupted. But despite this, live long and prosper.

As I sad this won't be a problem if the 1.2 patch would ,let's say replace the files wich are damaged (voice.dat seemsto be the problem for many people) ,but as youmigth have guessed,it doesn't.Instead it won't installat all :(.Hmm....what if i unpack the patch with winrar, copy paste all the files wich would recieve that error, and then install the patch normally :dnuhr:.

I had that problem. With me it was one of my memory sticks. I ripped it out and Medieval 2 FINALLY installed without any CRC error. Try that method to be sure. Alternatively, well...find another copy and see if it has the same problem. If it does then it's a good bet that it's some memory problem.
