On the 26th of September the gamesfactory in Mülheim an der Ruhr in Germany temporarily opened its doors and Silent Dreams presented their upcoming tactical RPG "Grotesque Tactics:Evil Heroes" to the public, consisting of two ok now three members of this forum.
I was the first to arrive at quarter past eleven, even though my first thought by seeing the entrance hall was that I entered the local home-center. ;)

Shortly after Crewmate arrived and unlike me he took some photos, which you may find partly at this website (http://img297.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dsci2744.jpg), here (http://img514.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dsci2757.jpg) and the last part (http://img143.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=dsci2796.jpg).

Well just to give some impressions of myself, I have to admit, that I'm no fan of round based RPGs as Grotesque Tactics is one, because normaly they are far to static to me. But Grotesque is not and that is a very interesting point, because during your round, you can move your character via mouse or arrowkeys in real time on the accessible blue marked zones, you can plunder chests etc. The only thing that ends your round is starting a fight or changing to defensive position.
How far you can move in a round, so how many zones are accessible depends on the surface and on the weight of the characters equipment. So HolyAvatar may walk 5 zones on a street but only 2 in a forest, whereas Drake may walk 7 zones on teh street and four in the forest (These are only some numbers for demonstration^^).
Some zones give your characters or the AI advantages, so standing in a bush makes them harder to hit, standing on a hill increases the amount of damage made by arrows etc.
The next point making this game worth a look is its humor. If you know the cardgame Munchkin you will find a partly similar monster and itemdesign there. Actually we didn't see many dialogs yet but it can be assumed that they will include many similar humerous and therefore amusing passages.

Some more facts based on what SilentDreams said
-they aim for a duration of ten hours
-you will have a party of up to eight (?) characters, all relevant to the story with their very own personality. Therefore you can ressurect them for coin at alters, well all but two of them. If Drake or HolyAvatar dies you will be forced to load a savegame.

All in all I expect a very entertaining game coming in winter 2009.
