Is there an end to the quest given by the Thief who stands across the bridge outside Faring? He asks you to report merchants you encounter to him (so he can rob them). I've been to all the towns and, AFAIK, traded with all the merchants, but his quest remains uncleared and there are no new options to provide him with new merchant info. Does his quest ever clear? Killing him fails the quest.

I didn't take the quest so I cannot provide the list of all marchands.
But I think to have read somewhere there are 5-6 merchands to report. Each report brings you 500 GP (°) and the quest closes with the last one you report => worth 6,000 EXP (°).

EDIT: solution of the quest


"So, I've solved the merchant quest. Entries in the quest log show which points you must mention, namely the following:

- Geldern: Hamlar
- Silden: Dylan
- "There is a dealer not far from here"
- Vengard: Hubertus
- Faring: Five Assassin Dealers

With these 5 points, my quest was solved."

It was Hubertus I was missing (in the inner castle area of Vengard).
