About Bow talent > 100%

I was wondering if bow talent gives any additional accuracy after 100%. Last time i played with ranger i achieved 120% in bow but still don't know if those additional 20% improve accuracy or are just for show. Haven't got a opportunity to compare 100% with 120% because i raised from 90% to 120% at once with tablets.

Edit: The formula for damage with ranged weapons i know but for accuracy haven't seen nowhere. So does anyone knows the formula for accuracy with bows/xbows?

If you increase the ranged-weapon skills above 100% you get a 100% percent hit chance on a longer distance. But you don't gain much distance out of these 20%. As the learning costs for getting you on 99% are quite expensive, its not realy worth it to raise this skill over 100% (unless you really have no other skills you would like to learn/improve).

It will cost me nothing to raise from 90% to 120% (30% from tablets) but because i already did so want to try something like 70% from learning and then 30% from tablets. The whole experimenting with that is an idea of making some sort of a guide which covers most of the archer/ranger class. For now haven't even installed Gothic 2 notr again :D but just asking questions.

I know that the last 30% don't cost any LP. But if you want to exceed the 100% you have to spend some LP first to get you over 70%. In your case: 60LP to get on 90%. And the next 10% are really expensive: 36LP (or 40LP if you skill to exactly 90% first).

As for your experiment: You'll find out that the distance where you'll have a 100% hitchance still gets increased when you exceed the 100%. You'll also find out that the hitchance at the maximum aiming distance increases (you are way below 50% at the maximum aiming distance). But both values don't increase that much that it would be worth spending the 100 LPs on it.

I was thinking exactly for those 60 LP. Because those are 6 lvs which is a lot without experience exploits. As for the last 10% i didn't think about them in the first place because aside from what you said there exists no teacher who can teach me after 90% in archery before chapter 6 which is almost the end of the game. The advice you gave me i have seen in a lot of other threads and will take it. After all one archer must be efficient archer as soon as possible :)

Aside from that does beliar claw's magic kill people or just knocks them down? I know that master sword is good but at some point want to knock down the paladin group at the harbor in Khorinis. As an archer/ranger i couldn't do that at least not without many loads and i don't like loading.

The magic damage of beliars claw will kill people, so you should use another close combat weapon (like master sword), if you only want to knock them down.

Thanks for the advice! I tried it couple of days ago for the first time just to see how it goes. The illusion that it might help me is gone. It is easy enough with master sword even without adding points to one hand mastery and strength. I think that this archer is the best out of my 3 archer tries mainly because early in VoM in chapter 2 i was 1-3 shooting everything except dragons.
