Well basicly would you like to see more advanced combat without weapons Like some sort art of self-defence that could be trained in a way like 1-handed or 2-handed fighting :).

you mean fist-fighting or fighting with claws?
hm sounds interesting, but i fear it wouldnt be very effective against wolves or scavenger etc ;)
but there will perhaps be an arena in Gothic 3 where its possible to fight with fists and claws

An arena could come in handy! I'd love one in Gothic 3 :D. As for fighting without weapons, I dunno...I like duels :D. I would like more melee weapons though, besides axes and swords, there should be some pikes, flails, some sort of double weapon, more maces, more daggers...you get the point. If I got into equipment, I like the armor style in Gothic, but I think that it should be made out of more pieces...And you should be able to fight with a torch in one hand too - even use it as a weapon :D. BTW - is there a way to put out torches in Gothic or Gothic 2?
p.s. one more thing - it would be nice if you could use that forging skill to actually sharpen a weapon that becomes dull over time, or just to make it better in the first place.
@crimson_cosmos,
In gothic, if you put a lit torch back into your inventory with the others, supposing you have say, 30 unused torches, then it will be added (total 31) unlit torches, provided that you only use them for a short time 1 - 2 minutes, then they will build up quite an ammount, sometimes in large caves or the dark passages below the fog-tower for example, i would put several on the floor to brighten the place up - then pick them all up later.
You can also re-ignite unlit/unused campfires as well as beacons/lighting with a lit torch. And yes it is possible to have a lit torch in your left hand and a melee weapon in your right hand in various scenarios in gothic. ;)
If u sneaked up to an enemy it would be nice to knock him off with our hands without any loud noises or a way to get with ur hands the weapon of an enemy (u need many dex).
It would be nice to if u could knock someone off with ur head (against his head) or to hold someone (that he can't move) to get onformations from him.

Additionally, I would also appreciate it if u could carry away dead or unconscious people so that others won't notice you. I think it would be far more exciting and realistic if other people could detect a crime by seeing a body lying on the ground and then raise alarm.
why? Thy disappear if u go away :D

yeah, but in this case it would be nice to leave blood trails.
If u set gore in the ini an a higher lvl u do? I did't test it but I saw screenshots with a kind of bloodtrails.
But this would be bad, if u hide a enemy, do u have to clean the room so that guadians don't discover the blood and find the dead body? Ok, that would be a reason to knock someone out using stealth abilities and not to make a sloughtery.
How about unarmed fighting..like a monk?
or 2 weapon fighting?
I think there should be sneak attacks...
And most... most definitely fighting with a torch, even if you have to learn it.`

i'm afraid you are getiing to close to the diablo style! wouldn't want to see that! though they should make a difference at the guild level. i mean, thiefs should have stealth attacks, while mercs power and skill attacks, maybe double hand fighting. just so to differenciate more the guilds, rather than just by their armors!
well 1 thing in Gothic sucks about fist fighting. you just retreat when you block with fists

nah, this thing will rune gothic, I think, don't forget that you are in the "gothic series" times, and not after 1000 years...I liked the news circulating system they did in g1 and g2, but they have to make it more realistic and not that fast. The world will be bigger and they also said in an interview that you can kill who you want whenever you want(gothic style).
p.s. you are not in Thief Deadly Shadows, nor hitman :D ... :D
ah, and about melee combat i'd like to be an arena where you can enter fights and win money(just like Alrik in g2).There should be some technics you can learn and use them.I was dissapointed in g1 when that guy told me that in a few days will be a fight and there wore no fights in that arena in old camp....

Unarmed combat? It could be an idea for our Piranhas. Deffinately if they want to make a circuit of arena fighting. (kind a like KotOR with the Swoop Races)

Selfdefense! That's a great idea!
But i say that gothic is a rpg and not a tacticgame. but always... ;)

Every one knows that you could use 2 weapons at the same time in g3. that's the feature i'll love the most. I would like to see more kind of weapons too but the most important thing that i think gothic misses is knockdown. Immagine putting an enemy at the ground and cutting his head of(like in highlander)<joke but it would be nice a move like this>.
PS : I would also like, but this has nothing to do with weapons, to be made pssible for the hero to take armors from dead npc's. That would be nice. IMO I think that there should be more armors in the game.
PPS : What happened with the guy who posted before me?
Dual Wielding will be very good,if the PB's will implement it.Also,it would be cool if you could do the deathblow when the enemy is still up.Ex:You fight a Paladin. He tries to hit you,but you block his attacks, and the second after that you stick your sword in his abdomen.
I think they could improve the fist fighting...and if you are strong enough you can beat someonejust with 2-3 hits in the face...remember Horatio ? and there were other NPC's that said they wore convicted because they faught and killed someone with fists...in G1,2, If you fight only with fists, it is uselless.

Hmmm....good point. maybe the no-weapons fighting will improve in g3. Just like in Riddick if someone played that game. At the begining you haved to fight only with your fists and when you hitted someone you would leave marks on his face...
