That's quite right. But if you are playing for the first time it will take 40 or more but it will be fun

It took me more like 80 hours my first time through... I spent a lot of time trying to do stuff that I was not leveled enough to do, and experimented with stuff.

Before I found WOG, I could spend forever on the most simple of quests, just because I couldnt figure out what I needed to do. The lack of a oblivion style "goal finder" on your compass is really what I liked about the game, though it added a lot of play time to my first run through it.

I remember how long I looked for the Dam Lurker before I realized it was on the other side of the water... Silly things like that added a lot of time for me.:D

I need help, I'm at 4440/5000 and level 3. I did all of the quests to get into the old camp. How can I get to level 5 quickly?

Kill beasts around the camp.

And don't venture too far away from the path.
This "No path, no party" thing is crucial in G1&2 at the beginning.

you know way from old camp to swamp camp? There is river,cross on other side and there will be some scavenger's. Kill them and lvl up.:D

hey i have problem i am a shadow in ch 2 and i dont remember what to do raven send me to brotherhood to know what they are planing and cor kalom send me to old mine for minecrowlers secretion or something like that but the old mine is closed :( what i have to do now that the old mine be open? :dnuhr:

1st talk to Ian then find the gearweal it was behind a guard in a cave further down the mine then bring back the gearwea to Ian then talk to the guard that is guarding the cave to the crawlers's nest and then you have to find 2 or 3 templars and thats it

The gate is generally opened.
Did you play with the heaver in Chapter 1?
This can cause a bug resulting a closed gate in later chapters. Then the gate can't be opened again.

If so, you could cheat by beaming youself some meters forward.
To do so: Open Marvin Console, press k and then [Return].

I don't know any other way.

Well the gate in front of the old mine has a mechanism with which you can open and close it. It's a small heaver at the right side of the entry. If you used this mechanism once, you enabled a bug causing a closed gate in later Chapters.

oh my god in chapter 1 diego sent me to the old mine for some letter when i go out the mine i turned that switch so now i have to play a new game? §cry

No. You should be able to cheat past the gate still. Enable Marvin mode by typing:

b (opens the character stat screen)
marvin
b (closes the character stat screen)

Now marvin mode should be enabled. walk up to the gate and hit "k" that should skip you passed the gate. to exit marvin mode type:

b
42
b

*note- some systems require you to type "c" in the place of "b" to open the character stat screen, in the above instructions.

today i tryed "k" and it forked i killed the minecrowlers queen and now i am in chapter 3 and i am mage of fire §burn :) and thanks for help anyway

But for some reason I can't get motivated to play gothic 2 :( . can anyone help motivate me. One reason is because I want to get that statue to get into the red mage monastery, but I'm level 2 and get slaughtered by mobs on the way to the inn.


Edit: also, is the world bigger in gothic 2?

^ The world is more than twice as large in G2 and way more than that in NOTR. This larger world contains all the great fun that you had in G1...

That should be enough to motivate you:D

Since you talk about a statue to get into the Monastery you are playing Gothic 2 Night of the Raven. As a mage its very frustrating in the beginning i advise you to play as a militia/paladin if this is your first time. Bear in mind that in NotR you will have a hard time if you don't focus on learning only one skill. This is not like in Gothic 1 where you can learn all of them. ;)
