Need help with cheat console

I've changed the game mode from false to true in my ge.3 ini folder and the console opened during game play when the ~ key is pressed. But I could not make any changes or make the console to work. I could not access any of the console functions. When I typed a simple "God God mode" code, it showed that it was a syntax error. Some of the letters typed did not match the keyboard such as the letter "z" appeared when I typed the letter "y", and "?" for the "_" (underline dash). What did I do wrong??

Community patch 1.6 installed, no previous experience with cheat console, but I have finished the games twice.

for god mode cheat type: just: "god" without the "

and syntax error is only when you type wrong

press "z" key to type "y" key

and "?" key for undelining such ass : spawn G3_Object_....

I could not access any of the console functions.

That's because of the 1.6 patch, but you couldn't do much with with those menus anyway for casual cheating.

The console uses the DE keyboard layout, that's why some of the keys are mixed.

Another hint:
Just copy&paste the cheats, this way you avoid typos.

I was able to get in God mode and it was cool, unlimited magic, life force, and strength. When I tried to use the knock down blow, a small eyeball chart pop out near the bottom of the screen and there was no way to close it. Another question is how do I deactivate the cheat code? Playing in God mode is cool, but it takes away the challenge of the game. Once again, all of the tips and help from you guys are appreciated.

God mode is not forever, the next time you start the Game, the HERO is mortal again. But if you want to disable the GOD mode while you are playing, type god again, and the HERO will be mortal.
