Fire vs Ice?

Which "element" is better? Fire or Ice/Water?

Which spell is more effective? Rain of Fire or Hailstorm? Fireball or Ice Lance? Flame Wave or Frost Wave?

Is there any significant difference, or are both the elements similiar in effectiveness and damage? I'm asking becouse I noticed that Hailstorm needs 10 more Ancient Knowledge than Rain of Fire. §dumm

I thing there are similar! But on G2 fire rain is stronger then others. I thing here is the same!

The electric bolt can only go only straight. The fireball can follow the enemy. The ice lance can follow the enemy and block him sometimes. That's the difference in the first spells, for others I dunno, I'm not into magic.

Don't know if there is a damage diffrence between fire/ice but I usually use ice. Ice lance seems to work better than fireball, and frostwave sometimes freezes enemies which is cool. I don't like rain of fire; it's too easy to hurt yourself in comrades. You have to be careful with frostwave too, you'll hurt your comrade if they're next to you. I like to start a battle with it though. As soon as enemies start running to you start casting it and you'll hit a few at a time. I haven't tried hailstorm, but meteor is awesome; it can easily kill a small group of enemies. I use ice mostly (when I use magic), combined with Water Mage perk you can do some pretty good damage while investing very little in magic

I thought that Ice was strongest than Fire, but now I realize that probably they are just tha same: although, I think I'm going fore fire spells :D I like too much the blazing effect u.u
