Gothic 1, one handed training from the new camp?

I'm pretty far into Gothic 1, at level 17, but my one-handed skill is only at 10%, and I can't find anyone to train me in this. I joined the new camp, and Scatty from the old camp doesn't give me an option to train with him, Cor Angar from the swamp camp won't train people from outside the camp, and Cord from the new camp gives me no option to train with him.

What's the deal? I read that Cord is supposed to train you in the new camp, but there's just no option. When I talk to him the only option is "END."

Heh, that makes sense. I just figured it out too, while looking at the stats screen a second ago.

Hey, will it ruin the game in any way if I beat up Lee and Orik and take their axes? I notice that when they see me with their axe they get angry and punch me, so I chop them down... but will anything suck later on if they don't have their axe, like they'll be fighting alongside me and have nothing to fight with? Is there any reason I should not take their axes?

Lee's does 105 damage, and Orik's is 95 damage. Pretty sweet weapons.

Also, I want to get the heavy mercenary armour from Lee, but he keeps saying I'm not experienced enough. I'm level 21. How much experience do I need before I can get that armour?

Give us more details. What patch do you have? And your system info too.

Yes you can beat Lee but dont kill him and change weapon while being around him.;) §wink

You can beat both Lee and Lares for their weapons, but if you don't want some pieces of the story to not being told (the dialogue with Lee when he tells you his background by example) you should not kill them.

If you don't change weapons when being around them they will go: "You.. are carrying my weapon? I supose I'll have to smack your fingers for you!" and they run at you. I almost always take Lee's axe, since it is the best two handed in the game, except URIZIEL.

Ah ok. I took Lee's axe and have been making good use of it too. I got the armour from Lee, I just couldn't get it until I started the 4th chapter.

I'm running version 1.08j, by the way.



Now I'm stuck somewhere else. I'm collecting all the items for the orc slave in the free mine, and the last one I need is the troll something or other. I've found the troll, but I can't get to him. He's on the other side of a big gap, and there's no apparant way across. The column looks like it should be able to break and serve as a bridge, but I can't figure out how to bring it down.

If you want to get over there, just use acrobatics.

what about gomez' weapon? it doest 110 dmg and it's a sword so it's longer than lee's axe.

you can only get it on chapter 5 cuz the castle is closed and on chapter 5 you get a teleport rune. or you can use a cheat

That strenght bug is really weird. I also played on 1.08j and i didn't had any problem like that.
