Gothic 1 coin question

Hey i Just wondered what I can use coins for..... can't seem to find any use for them

In G1 I also haven't found use of them, yet. Anyone?
(But in G2, there is this guy on Lee's farm (well, it is not Lee's farm, but I can not remember owners name - maybe Sekob...) in the room with the owner, that collects them - at no good rate if I remember....)

His name is actualy Wasili and you can make a deal with him, but only once. If I remember well you can obtain as much as 5 or 7 normal coins for an old one, but i'm not sure.

You can deal with him as much as you want. At least in NotR.

The Gothic 1 gold coins are completely useless, unless a super secret secretquest that still have not been found, exists.

that's not what i know. if you keep asking more, at one point he get upset and wont make a deal at all, even if you try to talk with him again

You can get 2 gold coins for an old coin if you ask wasili twice... afair he wont give you more..

It's not the money that is important but the xp (30 coins =300 xp not bad)

I was thinking to leave traces behind me with these coins, to find my way back in the woods, at dark... Unfortunately it is not possible, you can't just throw the coins piece by piece.

But I do something else. When I want to make a wish, I take one single coin, I go to the lake, and a let it fall in the water, and I make my wish :">

Well, actually even if gold has no appearently value within the Barrier, you can keep it for when you get out. :p You know, like Diego did. :D "Am i the only one who put some gold apart back then?" jk

Now that's a guy who feels Gothic atmo! :D Never thought of something like this, but did a lot of other similar... Nice! :)

But the real answer is: no, they're useless in Gothic 1, afaik. The guys there are just too greedy for ore, and they forgot about gold. :D
