Hey ya fellows!§wink
I want to make a little change for my game.For this i will change only the script pc_hero.d (_work\data\scripts\content\Story\NPc\PC_Hero.d).I changed the models and textures..But now i read in modding wiki that a .mod VDF must contain only the compiled file(.dat).But i don't know how to compile it to .dat .Also i had one fear..When compile i want my game to be in english again(when i start the mod in my other gothic 1 folder wich don't have the mod and player kit installed), because right now every text is in german language.:dnuhr:

The *dat will be created when you reparse the scripts.
For textures/models you'd have to activate the hooks in the gothic-starter ("Texturen konvertieren" / "Daten konvertieren").
The files are then in _work\data\Textures\_compiled\ and _work\data\Meshes\_compiled\.
.Also i had one fear..When compile i want my game to be in english again(when i start the mod in my other gothic 1 folder wich don't have the mod and player kit installed), because right now every text is in german language.:dnuhr:
Just copy the whole gothic folder to another place on your harddisk to be on the safe-side.

I made new clean installation in other dir/ and there i installed the player-kit to run my mod.But why some parts are in german again?I mean the menu was in german when i play the game from dev. dir and now in the clean is in english..but the answers to the npc's and some thing in character stats are still in german again
BTW in .mod file i included only the .dat.Is this a problem?:dnuhr:

Here is a list of what must into the mod-file, the german text says only that you have to put all the changed files (not the already existing files, means i.e. if you don't modify a texture you can leave out the texture-entry):

Ok, you just edited pc_hero.d and changed the textures and models IN THAT script?! ... I understood it that you've created textures/models on your own and wanted to use them in the mod.
So for you only the _work\data\Scripts\_compiled\GOTHIC.DAT is to pack into the mod-file.

Sorry about that misktake here but my english is not so good.But why i see german text in the mod?The answers that i must choose in dialog are in german..do you got idea?

The mistake was also on my side, no prob. :)
When you see german text, then i would say you compiled german scripts (i guess they come along with the mod-kit), you'd have to use the english scripts, read this thread:

Thanks.I used that program to make english scripts files but i got the same problem as him..i got 72 errors and 50 warnings when i want to compile the .d .Also i tried to compile them with gothic_starter_mod..i replaced the german with english and started the game with reparse scripts checked but there are many errors..And i don't know how to compile with spacer :dnuhr: Can you tell me?

First delete gothic.dat from _work/data?_compiled and then start gothic_starter_mod with reparse scripts selected . This is how I do.;)

and then i was kicked :dnuhr:I tried to parse with spacer but it takes years.10seconds for 1 script so i left this way
Edit: i rapaired the problem with ou.bin and .cls but i still got the second error

YOu don't have to parse them with spacer. Here's a step-by-step hot to do it:
Modify your needed scripts>Delete gothic.dat>start gothic_starter_mod with parse scripts option.That's all. Don't enter in Spacer or other. And OU.CSL and Ou.BIN has to bo in both system and the other folder. And it has to be without ou>bin. Jsut delete it:)

But i replaced the original mod-kit scripts with scripts i extracted from english .dat with g-sourcer.I deleted all original scripts in _work\data\scripts\content and replaced them with the scripts i got from english .dat.Then i deleted the .dat in _compiled and start the game then i got these error...i will contact you in hotmail:rolleyes:

This is the problem! Don't replace the mod-kit scrips with the ones from sourcer!!I am sure!And don't use sourcer. It have gave me the same errors when I've tryied to compile back gothic.dat

Yes!Finally i can do the thing i wannted to do!THANK TO you and wernerTWC§wink Thank you guys.
Now one final question-
in the ini's of the mods i see world.zen as selected zen world.but in he dev files the world is separated to surface , old camp , new camp and psi_camp and 2 more but my question is what to do if i want to join them together?

What you are planning? Just try it out, load i.e. "psi_camp", change something in the world, safe that zen and see if it works.
If not, there is also in the spacer "Tools" -> "Macros",... that's the option to merge zen's, but i dunno how exactly.
