Mod install

I've never played any mod for any gothic game. I wanted to try one out (golden mod in particular).

I remember reading a thread that explained step by step how to install a mod for noobs like me, but I have not been able to find that thread after several searches.

Anyone got a link to a thread like this, or want to help me out?:D I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, you'll need the Gothic 1 - Patch v1.08k (http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/index.php?go=downloads&release_id=6) and the Player Kit - v1.08k (http://www.worldofgothic.com/dl/?go=dlfile&fileid=28)

This looks like it will help. Ill give it a try tomorrow when I get a chance. Hopefully i wont need any further assistance, but who knows!;)

Ok, so i downloaded Gothic 1 - Patch v1.08k and Player Kit - v1.08k. I then downloaded the golden mod. Next I downloaded the English patch for the golden mod. When I download the Russian Golden Mod I get an error message (in Russian).

I think that I am not downloading these files to the proper locations due to my overt noobness. I apologize for it. Would someone here be so kind as to walk me through step by step,as to where I should save each of the above mentioned files?§danke Or maybe a link to another thread where this is explained would work.

P.S. Sorry for the double post like this, I'm not sure if this sort qualifies as being against netequitte. Please merge if it is.:)

Download again, i've just tested it, it works just fine for me.

It doesn't matter where those files are, while the installation you have to choose the g1-installation folder, that's all what matters.

You have to install in this order:
patch v1.08k
player kit v1.08k
golden mod (russian)
golden mod english patch

There is no problem with doubleposts here and there, they just get merged and that's it, ... it's not really against the netiquette. :)
