Place a Bet?

In the Old Camp is an Arena!
The Arena has a owner: Scatty!
When i talk to Scatty i try to Place A Bet but he tell me that there isn't any fight yet!
I WANT TO PLACE A BET!!!!!

I'm not sure if you can place bets. I think the dialog line was just for atmospheres' sake. But of course, I could be wrong.

Oh, and as a side-note, it would be nice if you could take a calmer/friendlier tone. I think we would all feel better. Thanks.

Yes, you get to fight the swamp camp dude in "golden mod". But no fight you don't participate in happens, so you can't bet on other people in that either.

it would be cool to see the other guys fighting, and have the opurtunity to bet on them! like in oblivion! cool feature inded!
btw, in gothic3 there are arenas too! do u see fights there?

In Gothic 3 you can also only fight yourself, but not watch arena fights of other NPCs.

The dialogue does lead one to believe bets can be made.
