In Gothic 3, Can the Nameless Hero Get a Woman?

Well, in Gothic 1, there were no girlfriends, just the woman who seemed to constantly bathe naked in a washtub. When I first saw her, I was for sure she'd end up the hero's romantic interest, but sadly that never happens (maybe in a mod, it could)...

In Gothic 2, there's the prostitute you can sleep with. Fully clothed, of course, because that's how everyone does it. You didn't know?

I have yet to play Gothic 3, basically because of all the bad things I've heard about it. There's always been bugs and clunky controls in the Gothic series, and I really couldn't care less. I mean, it's a German game, they're bound to do things differently there, and that's why we fought with the arrow keys instead of the mouse (and really, I liked this system in the end, so I don't mind it... some people are just cranky)...

I would say by now there have been patches to fix the game, and I've been thinking about buying it. I just want to know if the devs are ever going to give this poor guy a girlfriend. He spends all that time in prison, saves the world twice, and so far he's only had a night with a prostitute and a glimpse of some naked woman in a tub upstairs in a cold, drafty stronghold.

Heh, I know what you're gonna say. "What, you only want to buy the game if the hero gets a woman?" Nah, I'm just curious. I'm guessing... no? I haven't heard anything about any female characters in the game, actually. I bet there's no nudity, either. It's a shame, and I bet it's all Jack Thompson's fault. Even in Germany they're scared of him.

hmm..too bad there`s no girlfriend in G3 ...there are FEW women anyways ,but i didn`t even notice ,coz i was focused on the main story :D

Jack Thompson is a lawyer in the United States who attacks video games and their developer/publisher. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is probably the most famous case, but he's also attacked Bully, and strangely enough, The Sims 2, claiming that there was nudity under the "blur" (there isn't, of course, because the sims don't have nipples or genitals, like Barbie and Ken dolls). In America it is apparently okay to have violence (extreme violence, at that) in movies and video games, but anything sex-related is considered foul and atrocious. It's probably the government's form of population control, or a sad attempt at population control, but anyway...

I'm not saying the nameless hero should get married and have children, but there's always time for women. I personally consider life without female companionship to be pointless. But that's just me. He doesn't have to take the woman on his adventures, but he could at least develop some sort of relationship... with someone. So far he's only made what could barely be called friends. Diego may have been the deepest relationship he's formed, aside from Xardas, and I think everyone got upset when his voice changed from a very charismatic rogue to that of a moonshine guzzling hillbilly in Gothic 2. I wasn't amused, either. But really... there should be more to Gothic than killing and hoarding treasure, in my opinion. Gothic 1 made sense to me, but in Gothic 2 I could barely summon the will to save people the hero had no reason to care about. I don't know what the deal with Gothic 3 is yet, but it's clear that no deep relationships are formed still. Oh well. :(

I think you should stop with this. The last people who kept saying that all the characters in Gothic are gay and kept repeating the word "gay" in a lot of threads, Mazzar, got a 3 weeks ban.:rolleyes:
