then where are the other two? There are only 6 in the farm. Are the other two at the grain mill?
I found all of them on the farm, although if this is a case like the shy deers, they might have vandered surprisingly far.

I had a quest almost the same, refering to wolves in a cave near
montera. I had already cleared the cave, but I could still hear them
howling. I finally found on the forum that they were directly above the
cave and I had to climb up to get to them. Mabye the cows are
up on the hill or around the back somewhere. Some creatures and npcs
get stuck inside walls etc. this sounds like your problem. The funniest thing
Ive seen was after I finished with Varant and as I was standing there an
Orc was sliding along the path in front of me like he was ice skating. I followed
him for about 10 minutes until he got back to myrtana and he got stuck
it a rock on the side of the path. When I tried to talk to him he said
dont bother me, so I killed him. Anyway theres alot of weird things
that happen in this game so your missing cows could be one of them.:D

There are a total of 7 cows in the farm. 2 on one side (basically left of the town gate) and 5 on the other side (one on the far side near the hill, 3 near the two orc mercenaries and the two named slaves (Leon and Keldon(?)) and, finally, one in near the road.
To avoid being caught, it seems you have to kill them in one single blow. I tried to do with them from afar, at night, with arrows or crowssbow bolts but the cows only got injured and went running away while mercenaries and slaves were getting mad at me...
So I drew a good old melee weapon (Wenzel's sword), and managed to kill every cow with a single heavy blow. I did not even hide myself and nobody got mad at me or even seemed to care...
I had fun killing the cows with the Shock Wave. It killed the cow in an instant and they never even noticed me. :P I stood somewhere where they didn't notice or see me and charged the bolt and then it went sailing right to the cows I pointed the bolt at. It's self-centering if you charge the bolt to the full so you don't need to fear it missing the spot.
At least it's like that with me.

I had a similar problem. I found that the rebels right below the farm must have taken them or something because the final one was down there. None have ever been at the mill for me.
