Gothic 3 dragons & water monsters

I asked in a previous thread of dragons and where I could find some.
I was also dissapointed to find out that those were very weak.(the Cape Dun cave dragons)§burn
I have killed trolls,the Gotha demon,the White Reaper,cleared Vengard of orcs and many other creatures,so those dragons were like puppies.I want some really tough dragons.Give me the best !
By the way : Are there any harpies in G3 ? (sorry if I misspelled the word)

Edit: Water monsters are a better target.But I would like to find every creature I mentioned in this post.
By the way : I am registered in other sites and I was frequently asked if I used cheats to defeat creatures.To avoid the headache of answering to 100 members,I will say right now that I do not use cheats.

Hi, I didn't saw harpies, I guess has been replaced by those gargoyles (it's a shame, in G2 their screaming was bloodfreezing :D I liked it)

I don't like cheats either ;) the balancing in this G release is realy shity(sorry for the expresion-but its true)
All my HOPE is in the next patches, maybe the expansion, and I HOPE they won't screw it up this time, all I have is HOPE :mad:

In Gothic 2,my neighbour found a water monster in some water (I don't play G2 because it's in German and I don't understand a thing).You get in water,swim a little,dive in,look in the water, go back on shore,use arrow on monster or try to lure it on shore, kill monster.Voila !
But I still need my answers abot dragons.Please.

By the way : Is there a way to translate my G2 into English ? It doesn't have language select at instalation.My father bought it from Germany so maybe that's the cause.

I think I've heard s'thing about an english language pack for G2, I'll do a search and if I'll find it I will get back with the link ok( I think it is only for the subtitles and the dialogues still remain in german)
I didn't heard about powerful dragons in G3, sorry, I think there's none

Very true! The dragons are puny, not to say pathetic. Same for the shadowbeasts, wargs, skeletons, and the likes.

In G2, if I met a dragon, it was truly an adventure: I had to plan a strategy and it was a risky one. In G2, exploring a forest was risky.. Your heart-beat went up as there was always the risk to disturb a shadowbeast. And, more often than not, the shadowbeast always got the better of you if you were not prepared (remember how fast they ran?!). Remember how tough the skeletons were in G2?

In G3, all the animals have been watered down - this is a shame.

G2 was a true "purist" RPG. An extremely well-balanced game designed for, and aimed at the hardcore RPG purists.

As such, it was aimed at a minority of players who, on the whole, overwhelmingly recognised its merits.

G1 and G2 were never "wide public" games. They were designed by and for
true RPG "connoisseurs".

But we cannot really blame Pirahna Bytes for wishing to conquer the US Market. After all, these guys have been working 2 years on this game. They must sell enough copies to make a living out of it. Like you and me, they have bills to pay at the end of every month. And they'd rather sell 300 000 copies of their game than 30 000 copies - who can blame them?!

So G3 has been specifically designed for the US market: Everything has been watered down in order to reach as wide a public as possible.

Whilst I can understand PB's priorities, I wish they had managed to please both types of public: The true RGP gamers who made G1 and G2 a critical success. And the wider US public who is used to "easier games".

This could have easily been achieved in the "Difficuly" setting.

"Normal" setting would have been G3 as it stands right now.

"Difficult" setting would have been G3 based on G2 standards: Tough dragons, shadowbeast, skeletons, wargs, etc. as we had come to meet them in G2.

Surely, this would be someting very easy to implement in a future patch?

PB has a golden opportunity to reach a new public whilst preserving its faithul followers of the G1 and G2 series.

What on earth is it waiting for?!

Someone must be able to do this. There are a lot of editor values I see when I'm tweaking. If I knew how to open it all up, I'd be on it like a fly on poo. I so want this game to be more of a challenge.

Special items should be found here.
And Dragon horns should be able to take from them which gives much money on the market.


Very true! The dragons are puny, not to say pathetic. Same for the shadowbeasts, wargs, skeletons, and the likes.

Actually the shadowbeasts is more difficult in G3 than G2.
I could defeat a shadowbeast in G2 before going to the valley of mines, and later in the game they would damage just a little more than 5 hitpoints and die by one stroke.
I do aggre on their speed though. They should be running quick and move on a very large territory, and hunt Deers, scavengers and maybe even boars.

It's good wargs is not so good.
The special wolf types like Wargs, Ice wolfs and Jacals are a litle better than normal wolfs which is good, but one of theese cant take on a dozen of normal wolfs which they where able to in G2.
They are mainly the same size so the difference should be small.

In G2 wargs where almost as good as shadowbeasts which I didn't like.

The skeletons are not the best warriors there is, but neither do they look much scary and strong. A tiny weapon and no kind of armor.
In the addon they could make skeleton warriors with heavier weapons and some kinda armor.
Not covering all the body, but big shoulder plates and some kinda gloves.

Humans needs to be better in the game, not just blocking all the time but be realy aggresive, so one man alone face greater challenge in liberating cities.
To make liberating more fun give us more help.
Every city should be able to get real support from.
Theres a lot of rebel camps which would be great to get help from but won't.
-human, orc npcs much better, in the way they fight.
-every city is able to liberate with a support party from 5++

u can kill water monsters???
they only atack u in gothic2 in a movie!!! about g3 i dont know, but i found watermonsters while i was swiming with no cheats far away, then apeard a movie of me swiming, and some monsters atacked me from teh sea! but u cant kill those has far has i know!!!
atleast, in g2 u cant! cause like i said, they only atack u in movie!
and i think those monsters are called "piranhas"!:D , no seriously!

I found another one somewhere in the desert, but didn't even try beating it. There's no where to hide for shooting arrows, and a clear target without any fire protection is, for a dragon, a rather easy prey.

I did manage to sneak up to his chest, though :D

i dont know if there is any movie with the sea dragons in gothic3! but in gothic2 there is! just swim far away from the shore, and ul see it! but dont use cheats while doing this!

I don't think so. I remember having been attacked by the sea monster while playing without the Addon. Someone could make sure of this by checking if the sea monster movie is in the movies folder while having only G2 installed(without NOTR).

That is correct. You're killed by a sea monster during a cut scene if you swim too far from the shore in the English version of Gothic 2 with or without the addon.

these are all the animals i should be able to insert. the fact that i did not manage is a different thing. i activate test mode, the console appears when i push ` and when i write insert..., give..., spawn... nothing but the mode works cause god works and other work but anyway look here and see: walrus, vulture, whale:confused: :confused: ...

My guess you don't succeed with that commands because the console uses a DE, not US keyboard layout, so, for the _ character, use shift + /?

no i dont speack romanian, i just said a romanian word, cause mr.nutrageti is romanian(i think)!

and about the writing, i see them too, but i see a movie too, after the writings that say things like "piranhas will bite u!" and "swim away to momy!" or something like that! the movie apears just after those writings!
btw, important, dont use cheats to swim far away, using that ul reach the end of the map, and u wont see nothing!
btw, i think u start hearing sounds from the deeps of the ocean, when ur about to get to the movie!

anyway yes i am romanian: bucharest, close to "big berceni" for those other romanians:)
i never got the writing just the movie. g2 is not momentarily installed on my computer because i would show u he movie. maybe calin has it installed
go to the place where it's installed and look for the movies( it's not hard i think it's video or something). they are in compatible format (at least that's how i remember)

The confusion is caused by the Addon, in g2 classic you get this video, no matter where you swimm, it just must be far enough, in the Addon it comes only on special places, you can swimm straight away from the pirates-camp to see it (o/c without marvin).
