[GOTHIC1]'Island' Modification

Hello friends,

I recieved an e-mail not such a long time ago from a person who calls himself 'davied (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/member.php?u=9073)' involving a modification for Gothic 1 on wich he has been working at and for wich he released a demonstration version.

In this e-mail he asked me if I could translate the modification's demonstration version from german to english language so that everyone can enjoy it.

I embraced the ideea but there is a problem here. A problem that isn't going to be solved untill September 2007. I am refering to the fact that I am in the 12th grade in highschool and I have a tough year to come, culminating with me taking my exams in mid June.

So I tought: how can I still work on this project and learn for school at the same time. The answer presented itself: you let the comunity in on it.

So here, I said it. Now, will you help me and Davied to translate the modification?

If you are interested here are a few details that he was kind enough to let me in on:

Description:

The modification is situated on 'Stranded island' and it is completly diferent from the main game. The main caracther is a man called Eldred.

Features:


a complete new story;
19 partly very difersified quests (many quests with own animations);
action-adventure gameplay;
optional, nearly complete voice output (e.g. the hero's voice is missing);
2 small worlds from wich one of them hasn't ever been used in a Gothic modification;
approximate 2 hours of playing time;
a couple of eastereggs;
optimized for Freddy's Texture Patch (world, some meshes of the plants).To start the translation right away you will have to wait for me to post the text here. Good luck!

Also the author sugested to look at both the 'Readme' and 'Important' .txt files.

I don't really know for sure. I heard of 'Stranded'. Maby this is the Gothic 1 version!? Davied can you enlighten us?

This is a complete new mod.;) It has nothing to do with Stranded but it plays on the same island.:)

Currently the mod is only available in german, but with your help there will be an english version.:cool:
