Why can't I find Zacharias on Skull Island?


This appears to be a bug which is triggered when you return to Taranis after receiving the quest "Free the three great casters" (translation may vary). This will cause Zacharias to get lost somewhere in data nirvana.

The easiest solution is to load a previous savegame and make sure you have done everything left to do on the other islands before you embark to Skull Island.


If that is not an option for whatever reason, you can try a savegame hack that the user werauchimmer has posted in the German forums:


Open the savegame which has the problem with a hex editor.
Search for the first occurrence of the string "Player_FreeTheGreatCaster".
Shortly after that, there should be this byte sequence: 02 00 01
Change is to look like this: 02 00 02.


This modification should mark the quest "Free the three great casters" as completed and allow you to finish the game. Obviously, editing savegames is always a tricky business. You do it on your own risk and should always make a backup copy.
