Hi, I hope someone can help me here. Tried many places before but without success.

Risen 3 crashes often, after saving, but not always. I'm using Steam if that matters but the crash report only mentions Risen3.exe, not steam.

Here is the crash report:

Process Name: Risen3.exe
Process Architecture: x86
Exception Code 0xC0000005
Exception Information: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Heap Information: Not Present

I already tried running as administrator but that doesn't help at all.

Your question belongs in the Help section. This is NOT the thread where PB gives personal tech support.

If only there were some way of making posts move to their place, like having something like a forum police or something :p

Well, you might have a point there.

@Goth Wouter: I moved your post to where it belongs. Your problem, however, is rather unspecific with many possible explanations. I listed here some things you can try (obviously, you have to replace Risen 1 with Risen 3, where applicable).

You are running Windows 7 64 bit?
"Corrupted file system or failing drive, and failed RAM are the 2 most likely suspects."

Have you installed vcredist 2010?

Yes.

Very unlikely, Risen 3 crashing is the only problem I'm having.

Have you installed vcredist 2010?

I have no clue what that is. What I need it for? How do I check if I have it installed? What does it do?

In case someone else has the same problem as me, I've found a workaround for my problem:

I'm only using quicksaves now (F5), for some reason this does not give me any crashes.
