Sticky mouse buttons?

Hi. Why do my mouse buttons often remain stuck when I play Gothic II? For example I might press LMB, attack a bit, then release LMB and the game will act as if I'm still pressing down LMB, leaving the hero stuck in attack mode until I click LMB again. Same happens with RMB. It happens only some times, which is often enough for such a combat heavy game, plus I'm trying to finish it without dying. No other game seems to act like this, and the keyboard doesn't seem affected (for example if I use CTRL to attack and ALT to jump), only the mouse does.

Do you have a mouse which requires a special driver (those mice with more than 3 buttons)?

I have a G9 mouse and Logitech Gaming Software 8.40.83 running.

Yeah see, I think I already had this problem on other systems, I've never found anything on Google about this but I haven't bothered asking here until now.

Oh yeah, also, the mouse sensivity is peculiarly slow when playing the game, to the point I have to max out the in-game setting and increase DPI a lot. I think this is somehow related.

i have the same problems with an MSI G series gaming mouse with two programmable buttons

it quite annoying when i am in combat but it does not happen too often

So can anybody confirm a 3 button mouse doesn't have this problem? If so why does Gothic act like this with gaming mices, and is there some kind of fix?

Am I the last person in the world who happily uses a 4 euros usb mouse and is perfectly happy with it?
