Replaying classics like G2 is downright meaning no hassle either levelling or becoming a master in any skill but NOTR prepared me to struggle for a good 10-15 hours, become more strategic which completely changed G2 from an easy adventure to an exciting ride, I have finished Gothic 2 NOTR with all 3 guilds and learned a lot of levelling punishments and the rewards of my investment as well.
In short, I decided to share some of these experiences and also learn different strategies from other players too.
My Levelling Strategy is held by two factors.
1. A Starter Save
2. One fixed Attribute DEX or STR.
Many players have their starter saves with no LP spent by reaching maximum as possible which is what a starter save does. SAVES TIME!!
I managed to reach Level 17 Guildless with no exploits, defeating all monsters entire Khorinis and complete all Guildless Quests including Mercenary deuls BUT excluding Lord Inobis exploit, following with either one attribute where I spent maximum LP's early on. Also, once joining a Guild the Level can further be easily reached to a max Level 19 too.
Following the above I present a basic stats run-down with STR as a main attribute and 2H as the preferred weapon skill.
Level 17 Guildless (From Starter Save) 170LP
Level 19 Guild (Before entering Portal to Jharkendar) 190LP
Guild Joined - Mercenary OR Militia (Paladin) with 1H OR 2H Weapon skill.
Applies to Mages too (BUT Max 150 Mana can be reached)
and 5LP towards first rune learned (not the 1st Circle) with no Hunting Skill (may be LATER), and "Pray to
Innos" Guildless before becoming a Novice.
STR Base Train upto 79% (cost 129LP)
Items of Permanent boost
-------------------------------------
+7 or +8 Pray to Innos - +7 STR minimum
Elixir of STR +27
Elixir of STR Ship deck +3
Elixir of STR Zuris (CHAPTER 2) +3
25 Apples +1 Khorinis and +1 upto Jharkendar Total +2
Thekla's Stew +2

Belt of STR** (CHAPTER 2) Sengrath - +10
Items of Temporary boost (overview)
--------------------------------------
Amulet of Strength (Fingers Chest) +10
Ring of Force (Akil's Farm) +3
Belt of Force (Xardas tower at the Start) +5
Ring of Strength (JHARKENDAR from Huno) +5
TOTAL - STR +136 permanent
**permanent includes Amulet of STR equipped only upto Jharkendar and LATER Belt of STR from Sengrath equipped throughout the game.
STR +22 from Stone Tablets
*** (Cost 30LP invest LATER during Jharkendar)
STR +2 from any item (Belt of Force) just temporary (equipped only upto Jharkendar)
TOTAL STR +160 before fighting Raven
LATER1 Dragon Root either from Orc Elite(s) (random) or From Sengrath's Inventory (in my case, Sengrath sometimes had 1 Dragon Root as a Mercenary or 1 Goblin Berry as a Paladin. I think Sengrath always has either 2 varying as per guild)
1 Dragon root from Sagita (CHAPTER 3) +3
2 Theklas Stew +2
1 Elixir of STR from Oric +3
TOTAL - STR +171 permanent ;)
Protection
Pirate armor upto Jharkendar
Medium Mercenary Armor after Rescue Gorn OR Heavy Militia Armor from Engor in VoM
2 Ring of Warriors +15 equipped upto Jharkendar
LATER complete SET equipped from Chapter 2 VoM onwards.
Elixir of STR - Cost 20LP
Hunting Skill - Cost 5LP
Lockpicking Skill - Cost 10LP
Apprenticeship at Harad - Cost 0LP
Learn Forging - Cost 2LP
2H Weapon Skill - Train upto Fighter 34% (Cost 24LP)
TOTAL - Learning points (Start-up) cost 190LP
LATER
Learning points (from CHAPTER 2 VoM onwards) for 2H Skills is a major priority for Mercs and Paladins with limited DEX values. For Mages, Magic Circles with limited Spells, Mana and 2H becomes most important and very long wait for 2H training (As a Mage 1H is the Best choice).
Best Weapons (Start-up)
-----------------------------------
- One-Hander Orc Slayer (STR 130, DMG 130) easily available early on.
- Two-Hander (STR 105, DMG 105) from Shadow Warriors (in the cave with Dragon Slicer)
- Dragon Slicer LATER but easily equipped before the ending with Raven.
*** Language can be learnt early but (in my opinion) it's best to utilize 30LP's during Jharkendar from levelling up by completing all Quests and other XP bonuses in Jharkendar.
Well that's it..this is what I have found easy and less time consuming..waiting for more inputs and ideas from the players.. :)
