End of Chapter 3 problem with Vatras

I am completely at a loss, and have searched far and wide to see what the problem is. I recently purchased Gothic 2 GOLD and it's a great game, but I'm stuck at the end of Chapter 3. I'm supposed to find relief for Vatras, but I cannot get any further than that and I'm stuck!

I've gone to Onar's place and had Bennet fix the Eye of Innos, but when I visit Pyrokar, nothing further can happen with him. So I visit Xardas, nothing happens with him either. Vatras tells me that I need to find him relief but I can't for the life of me find where to do this! Someone please help me, I'm totally stuck and have now resolved to wandering aimlessly trying to find the proper "trigger" to continue.

Go and talk to Pyrokar. He'll tell you to speak to Xardas and make him prove his loyality. Xardas will give you a key belonging to a chest in Sekob's house. Got there and bring Pyrokar the book "The Halls of Irdorath". Be careful though, there are seekers waiting for you at Sekob's place. Good luck!

Well, see, I went back to Pyrokar, and he never brings that back up. I think I'm stuck in a bug :(. I knew I should of used more diverse savegames, cause now it appears I have to start ALL OVER. After Vatras brought up needing relief, I went back to Xardas just to see if he says anything, nothing happened. So I went back to Pyrokar, he says nothing new. I'm afraid I'm stuck and probably just going to uninstall the thing. Not worth replaying all that stuff.

The only relief for Vatras is Myxir the water mage,but to get Myxir in the city means to finish the quest in Jharkendar.Do that and the rest will follow.:)
So don't uninstall anything,there is much to do in Jharkendar at this moment.Pack your things and talk to Vatras and Lares,they will tell you what to do.

Have you entered and finished the add-on part of Gothic 2. I heard that you cannot continue with your main part of the game, unless you finish the add-on. That's what Vatras is concerned about, the world of Jhakendar(or however it is spelled).If you have finished the add-on then i dont know. (The add-on is included because u have the gold edition right?)

Yes, I just read something about doing the expansion stuff. Since I have Gothic 2 Gold, I, of course, have the add-on installed. :(. I have no idea who Myxir is, where or what Jharkendar is, but I'll figure it out sooner or later. Probably later :).

Think I found some reasons why I can't do anything. First off, I don't know where the add-on world is, can someone give me a tip on how to get there? Second, I never finished the "Missing persons" quest, even though I got the letter from Dexter, but Vatras never gives me a dialogue tree to say anything about it.

This is a great game in so many aspects, but all this stuff I'm reading about bugs and stuff that stop the game's forward advancement is pretty disheartening :(. Still, I carry on and keep trying to figure out what is needed to be done. I just can't give up that easily.

He is one of the missing people, but others are in the AddOn-world.

You should talk with Lares at the habour, this should help.... Lares can bring you to the pyramid.

Well, some pll are very quick in seeing bugs where are no bugs. ;)
Not every problem in going further is a bug.
Only if you have problem with an ornament-piece (the game will it explain later), there is a well known-lares bug, if you encounter that problem, just ask again! :)

Don't give up! Reaching the AddOn-world was hard for me too as i first played it, imho it's normal to have some probs with that.

Well, ok, so it's somewhere near the pyramid near the excavation site? Cause I go there, talk to Saturas (sp?), and all that, but he won't trust me for the portal thingy. So I figure the add-on area is somewhere near there? K, thanks for the tip, I'll start looking through that area more thoroughly.

There's simply no way for my to advance the story as I've said that Saturas won't trust me with the item to open the portal, Vatras won't give me any sign to have them trust me with the portal, and I can't get the mages to go to the Sun Circle. I've done all the quests, but the mages just sit there, so there is no other way I can get around it. I'm stuck :(.

Well,... let's start this right:

Use winrar (http://www.winrar.de/html-ger/downloads1.htm)to pack you "saves" - folder, located in the GothicII folder. Then you will have one file, that you can upload somewhere, i recommend Rapid-Share (http://rapidshare.de/).
In that way we can see what's the problem is.

Have you finished the weapons dealer quest ? Have you been to Orlans tavern for the meeting of the Ring of water ?

I appreciate the help (and the offer to check out my saves, cheers for that), but I finally got it! See, I got the note from Dexter, but whenever I read it it would say it made a new entry in my journal, but Vatras wouldn't do anything. So I went back to the camp, read the letter there, and then Vatras listened to me. Weird? Definitely! But now I'm in the new world and advancing nicely, so I'm very happy.

Thanks once again for the help, guys! Can't wait to get farther in this game, aside from the interface and fighting, this is one of the best RPGs I've played in a long, long time. Need more like it.
