Well, dunno, don't be so excited about her kissing a girl... that is a Sin against God.

We have a Lady Gaga thread, now a Katy Perry one ... what's next?
Personally I think Lady Gaga is more of a pop queen than Katy Perry. Katy Perry's voice doesn't sound that good.

Of course, royalty is the first thing that pops to mind when I think of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and assorted pop broads.

The only "singer lady" I'd really tap would be Mariah Carey, back in the days when she was not fat.Damn, some tits she had!
What a joke.
People should never forget some real Queens of pop (and not only) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I3S8lPM6qM&feature=related).

So... wait... by what criteria is someone crowned "Queen of Pop"? And when was Madonna dethroned?
I'm not really in the loop here.
Was that addressed to me, J? :)
You guys and your queens... you're weird.

Maybe Justin Bieber will become the real "Queen of Pop", when she grows a bit older.:p

No, you posted your post after I'd already started writing mine.
I never really considered Siouxsie as much pop as punk, post-punk and goth. Not that it matters. But somehow I'd imagine that becoming a "queen of pop" requires not only successful music, but decades of successful music and a dominating presence in pop music. Both Katy and Gaga lack at the very least the "decades"-bit. But what do I know, really, because like I said, I'm out of the loop!

I do believe they lack more than just that. Especially Katy whatever her name was
Oh boy, here we go again....

It sure does mean that, or at least, it should mean that. And also an out of the ordinary voice. For example, Michael Jackson was rightfully and indisputably called the King of Pop and even though I'm no fan of his, I do appreciate the quality of his work. But when it comes to women, I see that every successful chick with one or a few years of career and a catchy ass is called the "Queen of Pop".
But what do I know, really, because like I said, I'm out of the loop!

I tell you, sonny boy, in my time, that young gal Lady Day was the queen on popular music!

Joan Jett should be queen of music. Well queen of rock'n roll.
To the point. My brother liked a Katy Perry song. I didn't.
