Hey all, I'm new here (and I did read the rules!), so if this is in the wrong area of the forum, I do apologise.

Also, sorry for the long explanations!

I recently started playing Gothic 3 again with patch 1.74, Quest pack 4.2, and Content mod 2.2.

I've noticed that the 'Improve Armour' and 'Improve Robe' skills have been fixed (I'm pretty sure they never worked properly in the past).

Anyway, when I learned 'Improve Armour', I noticed the armour's stats I had equipped at the time (crafted Minecrawler Armour) had doubled. I was so pleased to see this skill take effect, I continued playing for hours without trying other armours. Then I bought the Knight's Armour from Vengard and noticed that the armour values only raised by a percentage.

I was very disappointed to see the Knight's armour wasn't effected by the Imp. Amr. skill - I was so looking forward to using it!

Anyway, I got over it, thinking only certain armours doubled (self-crafted perhaps?) and others merely got a bonus.

Next I received the Gladiator's Armour in Mora Sul, and again, the armour values aren't doubled, only raised a bit. So I decided to travel to Vengard and buy the Ceremonial Armour to test it out, and it's stats are lower than the Minecrawler armour. For such an expensive armour, I was hoping for the values to be doubled.

Next I enabled cheats, entered 'idkfa' and tried out all the armours to see which ones were doubled.

I have both 'Improve Armour' and 'Improve Robes', and it worked out that every set of robes, and most of the clothes, have doubled stats.

Armour / Robes with doubled stats:
Padded Novice's Tunic
Farmer's Clothes
Light Outlaw's Clothes
Light Nomad Clothes
Novice's Robes
Fire Robe
Leather breast tank w/Silent Hunter
High Robe of Fire
Highest Robe of Fire
Ranger's Clothes
Outlaw's Clothes
Water Robe
Nomad Clothes
Druid Robe
Dark Form
Heavy Outlaw Clothes
Robe of Adanos
Sparks of Divinity
Innos' Rulership Robe
Beliar's Dark Robe
Black Mage's Robe
Heavy Nomad Clothes
Zuben's armour
Minecrawler armour (self-crafted)

All others only receive a little bonus, like 70 to 87.

I was so let down to see the Dragon Hunters armour, with its huge stats (160 vs. blades/impact/missiles, 120 vs. fire) not doubled!

I understand that if every armour stats are doubled, you would be near-invincible. The odd armour values of most of the sets itches my mind, when I see the Minecrawler armour with it's clean, even, doubled values are almost as good as Paladin Armour.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Or has anyone else noticed this?

Does the Minecrawler armour count as a 'robe', which it with all the robes, get doubled protection?

Also, I know you can get a blueprint to make Knight's armour from the hints given by certain notes, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I never played with Questpacket (etc), only with CPT 1.74, and I can tell you this:
- Improved Robe doubles defense values of any robe;
- Improved Armor adds +7 points of defense to a non-robe armor.

So I reckon those values were modified, and somewhere along the way they missed to check Minecrawler armor.

Thanks for clarifying this! I did have another look at the skill descriptions and it all makes sense now.
